my statement doesn't oppose modern medicine at all. Dead babies ARE a part of nature's population control. Thats called natural selection. It occurs in every species of animal. Modern medicine is a godsend but it also enables billions of people on earth to live way past the point that nature intended or that nature can support. That hardly means I think we should do away with modern medicine. What exactly about those two statements contradict each other?
^it's true. I wish my insurance would've covered a midwife. I gave birth to my son in a hospital and although the experience wasn't as bad as some of the horror stories I've heard about hospital births, it wasn't the way I planned. After 12 hours of labor they had to break my water and almost immediately my contractions got unbearable. I asked for an epidural (Holy hell the back problems afterwards) and after 6 hard hours of pushing he finally made his entrance into the world. This next time around I will be a little more apt to speak my mind as to how I want things to go.
My best friend had her baby at a naturopathic clinic with a midwife and she was really glad she did because her labor lasted 3 days and if she had been in a hospital they probably would have made her get a C-section which she has strong feelings against getting. She and the baby were in no danger, sometimes you just have to be patient. Anyway, I don't want kids but if I do decide to, I will not give birth in a hospital unless there is something life-threatening going on. And no pain killers.
