    I do actually :)

Your rudeness is meaningless to me so feel free to continue :)

I'm surprised by the pessimism of some on here. Surely if every fighter of human rights or positive change had your attitude in the past nothing would have ever been accomplished.

The news today from Occupy Wall Street seems to be that 3 were arrested. I believe they were Media Team and it was during a march.

I love that Ghandi quote. As for the pessimistic attitude on here, I'm surprised too. I've never seen a group of people more inclined to sit around and bitch about the status quo and the "man", then bitch about how no one ever does anything to change things, and THEN bitch even more when anyone tries to take a stand.

I mean, most people choose to bitch about one thing or the other, yet here in this very thread the same people are bitching about all 3 things.

I think people just like to bitch.

I thought that quote had been proven a misquote.

You give up that privacy the moment you do anything online.

I guess you don't know much about internet marketing. The more likes a page has the more it seems like people care about it so it encourages supporters. Brands do the same thing.. they try and get consumers to like their facebook page so when future consumers look at all the likes their page has they feel like the brand must be great if that many people like it.

If the protest FB page had 20 likes everyone that heard about it and went to the FB page would automatically think only 20 people care or support the cause. Now that it's close to 40,000 it makes it seem like the protest is big and has tons of supporters.

I actually deleted my Facebook because of the privacy issue. As for not giving out personal information over the internet.. From your profile I now know where you live, your age, and what you look like. So if you're so against giving any personal information over the internet I suggest you look at your own profile.

And back to the protest.. It has gained alot of momentum and tons more media coverage. There are protests all throughout the nation now that are coordinating with the wall st. one. I hope this traction keeps going. So much for those at the beginning that said it was a joke supported by lazy hippies and would fail within a few days.

Not entirely true. There are ways around or at least make it more difficult to be tracked. It's just a lot ppl decide to go the easy way on the net.

Keep telling yourself that. One day you will realize that every single keystroke you make, is recorded as it passes through your ISP.

All the little games of using proxy sites and vpn's and so on, are USELESS in terms of your ISP.

It's really quite the amazing trick you know... downplay the truth, substitute a fear and everyone falls into line...

The truth is that everything you do online, is NOT private, for the simple reason it has to go through an ISP.

The fear that has been fed to people is that certain sites are what you have to worry about.

So you have a bunch of people running around thinking that individual sites like google and facebook are evil and avoid them in order to 'protect' themselves as they post their drunken pictures and so on on... whatcacallit.com (insert any site)... And every single thing they do, is linked to them, whether or not they realize it (or want to admit it).

Who says i am usng my ISP. In those cases unprotected wireless internet is great. :)

Nice to see more and more ppl are joining in. I am curious how the cops will react when 38,000 more ppl join in.

Yes and no... If you jump someone elses network, it isn't automatically tracked back to you, however, everything you do online at that point is still tracked, and if a person (at the ISP of through them) were to connect your online activities, then you 'could' still be tracked.

As in, say you slip onto someone's wireless and check your emails that you have also checked from your home IP.

Not to mention the fact that you are opening your own computer up to being hacked if you try to get on the wrong person's network... some people leave wireless networks open for this very purpose.

I think they are operating under the theory that if they don't poke them, they (the protestors) will give up and go home. I don't think there is any question of what is going to happen when it starts to swell dramatically...

They are trying to show the rest of us the way,I think. At least those that are used to a little critical thinking and can afford to show up. Perhaps those that have lost their jobs ,their homes including the continual homeless including homeless veterans, should get there however they can. Anyone remember what happened to the world one vets that camped on the white house lawn demanding jobs?? A repeat of that event could cause a tipping point.
