The MSM only publicizes the NEGATIVES of the protest with the obvious goal of keeping other people away. 80 arrests is a lot, and they're probably wanting people to believe the protest is now OVER. But it's just getting started.

Although it remains to be seen if Americans will put up with cold nights camped out on NYC streets. Are Americans willing to sacrifice their comfort and personal security to protest against the system that is failing them?

The Wall St Journal is dismissing the protesters as dumb college kids that think social media substitutes being on the street.

I may not be on the street and on social media but it's worked in spreading the word and even though people aren't there marching they are at least waking up and making demands in other ways.

The way I see it if this gets broken up then everyone will learn from their mistakes and come back stronger. And something tells me it won't be just these people. Now Obama is telling blacks to march. The way you had the hippies and the Hell's Angels eventual join because they were against the same enemy I think you'll see different groups springing up and joining together. The Ron Paul supporters are already flocking to the protest FB trying to steal our thunder lol.

There's still plenty of time until the next election and right now people are cynical. The Republican base isn't happy with any candidate and liberals, blacks, and Dems in general aren't happy with Obama. So with pressure something will happen.

This is the ilusion of the Internet. It makes you feel and believe you are doing something when you are not.

Now I am not for this protest and I believe that the "war" is over and it is all lost. I do not hide this and I will write my reasons later in a seperate section.

I went into my militant time. I am part Mohawk and it is just part of the culture.

If you want to protest and you want to fight you must leave the Interenet. You must go back to organising in small groups and exchaging information. Discussing plans and weakness. You must then talk among the small groups to cordinate your plans.

You can not use the Internet or cell phones. Because the first rule is to assume the governement, police and military are listening. You can only use these things to say thigs like ' go here now.'

Everyone looks to Egypt and says 'facebook' caused the revolution. It did not that is just marketing to make facebook look important and to make hopeful revolutionaires use it.

To plan anything against a government or corporation it must be done face to face. Otherwise it will always fail.

Jesus, that woman who got pepper sprayed went apeshit!

Haven't heard too much of this over in the UK but it seems it's a pretty big protest - I'm surprised we haven't had more coverage.

I must say though, I have some sympathy for the cops - even though I don't like them. They have to deal with all the shit people give them and I'm sure half of them(if not more) agree with the protesters, but they can't do shit or else they lose their jobs. I don't think that's top on their priority list in the middle of a recession.
Yeah there are loads of vids of cops being pricks, but obviously you're not going to upload a video of a nice policeman obeying all that human rights bullshit because it doesn't make a very good point.

Let's not forget folks, the Tea Party started with small protests before it was usurped by Conservative Republicans.

That is what we need to worry about, the Tea Party or some other group like Ron Paulies trying to subvert the movement for their own benefit.

You have a LOT to learn about protesting.

Calling a protest a FAILURE only reveals your own Failure to understand the forces at work.

The fact that the protest was finally covered by the MSM, is a SUCCESS by any measure, esp when the media is so tightly controlled now.

The number of people who KNOW about this protest is enormous. People are coming from around the world to join it. Just because you haven't seen it covered 24/7 on the MSM does not make it a failure.

And from the beginning, they have said this is not a ONE DAY event. It is modeled on the Egyptian and Israeli protests which went on FOR MONTHS.

So know what you are talking about, esp. on this website, or you will have no credibility.

    Now here's a REAL protest...
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/26/tibet-monks-fire_n_980728.html

I'm sure hippy chick will think it a failure because the two monks who set themselves on fire didn't die, right?

And I suppose for it to be a "success" the Occupy Wall Street protest should've had the government give in to all their demands by now, right?

If you want to protest. Go protest
If you want to set yourself on fire. Go set yourself on fire
If you want to protest on Internet. Go protest on Internet
If you want to mock me and tell me too shut up. Then do that too.

You want to be right and you want anyone that disagree with you to be wrong.

Therefore you are right and I am wrong. I certainly know less than all of you. I see now that the protest was big success and the world is much better place. From all of my heart I thank you for your efforts.

I apologize for not being able to beating up Mr. Jackie Chan's friend the midget. I am content that there are big people like you who can do it for me.

You know I just realized any article I read calling this a sham is just trying to get people disappointed and discouraged. I say fuck them! I was around when their FB page had 2000 likes and no media coverage and I spread the word like crazy and now they have 20,000 FB likes and every media station I called has now run several articles about this. So fuck those people that wanna discourage people from speaking up!

The protest is a microcosm fighting for the macro.
