Update At 9.30 the following Saturday (13th) I received a WhatsApp message from K, as we hadn't communicated at all in the previous 7 days I opened the message to see. It was a picture of her and a scruffy teen lad lying in bed together both with smug grins on their faces. Honestly, the very first thing when I saw this picture was laugh and I replied with the light hearted comment,
    "You are such a tease".
Because of the heat I couldn't sleep but no other messages were sent and at 1am I sent a message I am genuinely not proud of,
"Did he spend 1 hour licking your pussy before fucking you for 5 hours? Us 44 year olds do thing much better than young lads do!"
She replied a short time later with
I then realised the only thing I should do and I should have done it before I sent the message is block her and delete the conversations.

I am fully aware of catfishing but didn't put 2 and 2 together because of how much talking we were doing before I moved departments. The only thing I thought unusual was K's lack of photos, she had a couple on her Facebook and did give me one additional picture but I never got to see any others, I expect she has two Facebook pages, her minimalistic public page for the men and boys she is catfishing and her real page.

Thank you Candy Gal, I hope so. It is quite upsetting I spent 14 years in a controlling marriage, 6 months with a 49 year old whose life continues to be serious mistake after serious mistake, I was briefly a highly successful married women's bit on the side and then I was catfished.

Life has its challenges. We learn from them.
I kinda think our match is a hidden number.
We can't see it. But it is there.

I have worked with younger girls all my life and some of them see older guys as a conquest. One hot night and they move on to their next victim.
As for me, I just carry on as the father figure and end up a few years later invited to their wedding. Many of them have remained as friends for more than 30 years and that is worth far more than making a fool of myself and loosing a good friend.

I did know one case where a girl married a guy who was twice her age. He accepted that she needed physical attention from younger men and was happy to sleep on the settee while she took them up to their bedroom. Each to their own, but to me it was like something out of a comedy film, particularly when the guy agreed to drive them home in the morning.

    Double trouble
    1. In the same workplace
    2. Age difference

It can be fun if both agree it’s going nowhere in the long run. But human nature, something is likely to happen and someone will get hurt, upset, whatever it will be.
Unless both are able to keep it informal and just temporary fun

    To echo others, someone older
    Preferably not from the workplace
I have seen a few stories that didn’t end in a nice way. One with someone who was with someone else, it ended up in an ugly way, and she started trying to hook up with me at some point. I was attracted to her but very aware of some factors a coworker warned me about
Before I started working there she tried to hook up with that guy as well using a tactic he was smart enough to see through
Unfortunately and ironically he started with another woman who was not well seen by a few of us guys
One very crucial incident ended things between them. It can happen anywhere else but again being from the same workplace, wow, how things turn after something happens

words of wisdom from someone who saw and heard more than enough

It goes back to my student days, when I ended up showing the films at the old cinema at Kensal Rise, I started working there when I was 15.

It was a beautiful old building with around 1,700 seats, to be occupied by a typical audience or around 30 during the matinee and 90 in the evenings.
It dated back to the days when the sound on the silent films was provided by a full orchestra and the total staff numbered more than 200.

Fast forward to 1964. Although their were no musicians on the stage, additional entertainment was provided during the performance by the cinema cats chasing the rats and mice. A few of the audience also arrived with tins of catfood, rather than popcorn to spill all over the place and attract even more mice.
Their was an unwritten minimum age for admission of 65 and while a few people who were only 60 managed to blag their way in, the floor staff were all between 70 and 80.

Then one day an usherette finally retired because she was unable to stay awake for more than 30 minutes and the audience started complaining about her snoring even frightened the chief cinema cat.
On the day of the interviews for her replacement, only one of the 5 applicants turned up, so the job went to Rider, a 20 year old eastern European blonde, almost 6 feet tall and all boobs and ass.

Everything changed, the audience figures went up, mainly by all the local council binmen and manual workers using their service passes. Rider provided them with various refreshments and even tea in the back row of seats that she kept roped off.

Fast forward another year. We were opening 2001 a space odyssey and on the Saturday evening, for the first time in almost 30 years, every seat sold out. Unfortunately only about 1,550, because the other 150 were broken.

The day did not end their, because after the show, we used the cinemas huge foyer to host Rider's wedding reception to her favorite binman. Everyone danced into the night, before the bride and groom headed off on their honeymoon in a clapped out Ford Cortina.
Everyone rested and recovered from their hangovers over the next few days and needless to say, I went on showing the films.

Then we got to Thursday and our stock of the local newspapers arrived.
You can only imagine our shock when we saw the cinema and premier all over the first few pages, but it was dwarfed by the front page and headline
    RIDER IS A MAN

That one made headlines all over the UK.
Rider arrived with a fake or stolen female passport and obtained NI papers and a driving licence in the UK. He fled the country before the story broke and was never traced. The most embarrassing part was for the priest who married them, he resigned from the church.
We called them the swinging 60's, but dozens of guys played with Rider for more than a year without getting their hands inside his usherettes uniform. How it got as far as a wedding, even surprised me.

Their was one interesting moment. On the day of the job interview, a friend of the manager took one look at Rider ad said, "That's a bloke". Everyone just laughed.

    Where would I start.
Last week I had a 15 minute review of my hearing by the consultant who performed the surgery on my middle ear.
90 minutes later (including her lunch hour) we were still putting the world to rights. She suggested that with my open mind and logic, I should give a lecture at her college where she studied 25 years ago. Unfortunately it is a long journey to India. The college must be one of the most advanced thinking in the world.
Unlike UK medical schools, where students spend their spare time propping up a bar stool and discussing the assets of the nurse, Mona (yes we are on christian name terms) had to study an auxiliary area. Her study was Virology and her paper was on Corona Virus and the history of it's mutation. 25 YEARS AGO.!!!!

The doubting Thomas's who scoffed at my many replies to their views on HF, should look at the recently published mortality figures for the UK.
2020 was 1.7% up on 2019, (an all time low) and lower than 2017, which I still believe was the first mutation of covid. I strongly suspect it all started during the exploration of Bat caves in China, that had not been disturbed for several thousand years.

Even Skip seems to have given up on me with this one. Until my last reply to you, I see a strong similarity between Rider and the original post.
Without some lateral thinking, posts would have 2 answers. "I agree" or "I disagree".
When I read the later posts on this thread, my view was that thinking from his trousers, denied the OP the opportunity of a lifelong friendship.
