Dan Rather apology

I think you're fooling yourself if you believe they didnt konw they couldnt back up the source. They ran with it because their ratings have dropped bigtime in the past few years and dan rather is a hasbeen. Sad really, dan rather ruining his otherwise bright career. At the end of the day, he is high enough up that its his responsibility if he puts bad information ont he air, and then to defend it and criticize people who tried to question him..its a shame really.

A lot of people at cbs should be fired, just not rather.

 

I knew they could back up their source, but they didn't that's what I was saying, a good journalist and news media person would have checked, doublechecked, and dug deeper to cover their ass..and yes, it's a shame that he ruined his career. I think there are more at fault, so I agree with you about more being fired, besides Rather.

 

So again by the standards you employ, Bush and co should be removed from office for knowingly having lied about Iraq and gone so far as to send young men and women to die for their lies.

Of course, I doubt you apply your principles so consistently where they may get in the way of your partisan loyalties.

OH yea! I've lost all respect for Dan Rather as a journalist. I am an aspiring journalist myself, and this is just ridiculous. Isn't what he did pretty much the same thing as Martha Stewart did? So is he going to be punished? I hope so, because before he released this FALSE information, several people had told him that they were too questionable and that he should not use them. As a journalist, he has commited the crime of being libel. Not to mention the slander. He needs to be punished.

And the democrats say, "Yeah, they were fake, but they're probably true..." Isn't that an oxymoron?! If it's all true, then why not use the REAL war record??

Well, there were no WMD, which Bush assured us, and congress, that were there.

Like I said in an earlier post, how can people that still support Bush complain about Rather. Now THEY (unlike Martha Stweart) did the same exact thing, except Bush's moves cost lives.

it's funny how the bush campaign strategy is to put down kerry, even though he's done most of the same shit. the main ones: "flip-flopping" on issues. controversial war records.

dan rather is the head the commander in chief if you will of CBS news

now he presented information he knew to be false
he lead america into a a situation he canot get us out of
when the public found out he stubornly stuck with his information
then when it blew up in his face he blamed it on the inside information sources of CBS news.

so he has got to go

the commander in chief
the secretary of defense
and the national sec. adviser of CBS news all have to go.


there is no other situation my words could also be aplicable to.
