Currently Listening To

I decided to go to Tiesto Nov. 16 & then John Digweed Nov.17 at Academy in Hollywood for approximately the same dough. The only thing I can't figure is parking vs. Uber. I emailed Insomniac to see which one is cheaper (since it's their club I figure they ought to know how much parking is) but they aren't getting back to me. Uber is like $8-10 each way. My guess is parking is at least $20, but it could be more. It's pretty close but I'm spending a bunch on tickets and a hotel (i know how extravagant) so I don't want to park really.

 

I almost missed this response... Damn I checked out the Tiesto ticket prices, those ticket prices are pretty steep. Almost the price of a festival.

You are aware of "Surge Prices" by Uber right? Like for Big events in highly populated areas where many people will be requesting the service, they'll spike their prices. Perhaps it's not applicable to this area but I know the last festie I went to, people who were paying about $20 for Uber to get to the venue, were paying ~$140 to get home.

Oh. I've never used Uber or Lyft so I didn't think about that. I think this place is open at 10:00 PM though. Might be after the proverbial rush so to speak, but I don't actually know what traffic is like after these things let out. It used to be we would get out, go to our cars, and drive home. There wasn't traffic. This was back about 15 years ago when that place was called Teknoclub or HQ or something. It had several names/owners before insomniac came into the picture. I don't know when or why they acquired it to be frank. I always liked the venue at 8th and Spring in downtown better. That one was the globe theater, but everybody called it "the orion".

I will look out for the surge prices. Thank you for the cool tip! Yeah, the Tiesto tickets are killing it, but it might still be fun.
