You have to switch at some time when you love both but I usually seperate my moods more strictly as well (actually the moods do that) Jaldaboath does not has much death metal characteristics by the way, if you don't recognize the kind of metal it is better to just call it 'metal'

Your right...I didn't have time to think properly...You've got me right there though...Although I like a bit of metal I've never been a "Death" metal fan...

 

Me neither, I can dig it live and have been confronted with lots of death metal through friends but I always preferred black metal myself where it comes to the more extreme metal genres. I can't blame people who are not into metal for not seeing the differences though, but when you say just metal you are never wrong

 

The thing is I've come to learn through skimming metal magazines that there are many sub-categories of death metal itself...I still think Black Sabbath stand the test of time...

 

Haha yes, and it doesn't stop with death metal. For the purist there are many sub-subgenres in almost every metal subgenre itself. Although the same is done with rock and electronic music etc. the metalheads are almost notorious for nitpicking about subgenres. I guess a lot of fans just take it really serious.

I just call myself a "metal fan", as I'm not really a fan of any specific sub-genres, mainly because I see merit in the vast majority of them, and am a fan of bands in most of the sub-genres. lol I do like most other types of music though, even though I do consider myself a "metalhead".
