Honestly this is none of my business, OdonII, I used to believe because of the international pressure of improving the longevity confidence of Gazans for their privated property, indeed without legal proof.:mickey:
I didn't ask if it was any of your business. That is a cop out. You tried to give your opinion (I used to believe). So I am not sure why you prefixed with it not being your business. You either have an opinion or you don't. Well the middle ground Is not wishing to highlight your prejudices anymore than you have or you have no idea.
Well, I did not reference Israel or Gaza. Most of the Isis volunteers are from places like Gaza. They are not Iraqi and seem to have no problem killing Iraqis. After reading the hogwash from Oscar, I remembered the US troops burning the homes of Vietnamese villagers. I also remember a bunch of Marines killing Iraqi civilians in Ramadi and Fallujah. From reading what you have written, I have no idea where you stand. Are you telling me you support wars?
what american media tells us.. its retaliation over the israeli teenagers abducted and killed.. And the Palestinian teenager kidnapped and killed..
Total control of vast petroleum reserves is one of the many reasons. Total control of a religious population that is accustomed to living under kings and dictators is another reason. And the preventing of dispossessed Palestinians from reclaiming their homelands. Lastly, the preventing of the local population from having true democratic government whereby they could decide for themselves the future of their vast petroleum holdings.:sultan:
What 'vast petroleum holdings'? Country Analysis Note The Palestinian Territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip do not have any proved hydrocarbon reserves, but fields on the Israeli side of the boundaries may extend across the West Bank and Gaza borders. The discovery of the Gaza Marine field in the Mediterranean Sea in 2000 indicates the presence of hydrocarbons, although the resources are not yet commercially viable. The Gaza Marine field holds an estimated 1.6 trillion cubic feet in recoverable natural gas resources. The offshore Gaza territory may hold additional energy resources, but uncertainty around maritime delineation between Israel, Gaza, and Egypt could limit additional exploration. It appears that Israel's Noa natural gas field is part of a larger structure that crosses into the Gaza offshore area, but confirmation requires further study. The Palestinian Territories consumed 23,300 barrels per day (bbl/d) of petroleum and total liquids in 2012, all from imports, because the territories do not have domestic refining capabilities. In recent years most imports of refined petroleum products have been either distillate fuel oil or liquefied petroleum gases. From 2000-2010, those two products accounted for an average of almost 80% of petroleum and liquids consumption in the Palestinian Territories. The Palestinian Territories do not currently produce or consume natural gas, but in April 2012 the Palestinian Authority signed a natural gas supply deal with Egypt to help with the proposed conversion of its generating capacity to natural gas-fired facilities. Further, in January 2014 the Israeli government approved plans to supply the Palestinian Authority with gas from its Leviathan field once production commences in 2016 or 2017. In 2010, the Palestinian Territories generated only 445 million kilowatthours (KWh) of electricity, enough to meet just 10% of demand. Electricity imports accounted for the remaining 90% of power consumed in 2010, which totaled 4.6 billion KWh. http://www.eia.gov/countries/country-data.cfm?fips=pt
For the last 95 years Israel has wanted an oil pipe line from Kirkuk in northern Iraq to Haifa. Israel became a UN recognized country in November of 1947; however, it was created at the World Jewish Congress meeting in Switzerland about 60 years earlier. The Israelis have had designs for Middle East oil for a long time. You also need to understand that all players, including ISIS and the Palestinians would love to have control of the oil. The Kurds have relocated over 6 million of their people from Turkey and Iran into Iraq so they could vote and take Kirkuk among other towns. The Kurds want that oil in a bad way. The Middle East is not limited to Israeli controlled lands as most westerner seem to think; moreover, the Middle Eastern peoples see the reality in a Middle Eastern way. Odon II I sincerely hope this information has been helpful to you.:sultan:
Nice job grouping everyone together. :2thumbsup: I recall posting in this thread and let's see... I am not conservative, I do not own a gun, I do not support war or wars....and let's see... I understand some, but not all, about the middle east. I know enough to keep up with convo and understands a bit beyond the basics of what is going on in most middle eastern situations but I am by far not an expert. Anyways... your post just annoyed me grouping everyone together like that. Like, who are you to judge everybody else?
I made no judgement. I just stated facts. In my educated opinion, I observed much that was not factual, and wanted to make a factual statement. Now having said that, I remember Oscar saying things like the USA was under some danger from Middle Eastern Muslims since 9-11, and that NAVY Seals were providing protection, and remember you saying that you are Conservative. Consequently, I wanted to interject with some info on Viet Nam and to point out that ISIS was made up of non-Iraqis, like some Palestinians; and, the reasons behind the war included the vast petroleum riches in that land. While we are on it, I'll say there is plenty of information telling that the USA had trained, funded, and armed ISIS--to go after Syria. Now these US trained savages are destroying some important Biblical archeology, while they murder innocent people by the thousand. I hope that I didn't ruffle your feathers too rough. :sultan:
You remembered ME saying I was conservative? I DARE you to find the post because that is something I have never once typed or spoken in my life. I considered myself liberal and very liberal all my life until recently...sick of all politics all together I consider myself apolitical (although socially... on drugs issues, marriage issues, etc.-I will always always always be very liberal-to the extent of legalizing all drugs, etc.).... but if you can find a post of me saying I am conservative I will pay you a thousand dollars. Yea, it just rubbed me the wrong way cause sure I saw Oscar's posts and I see other people's posts like that on here....but that is their opinions, which they can have and that does not mean that is everyone else's opinion but you come on here.... NONE OF YOU KNOW ABOUT THE MIDDLE EAST YOU CONSERVATIVE WARMONGERS. Like...whoa. Back up a min. Don't lump everyone together. In any case, I am personally VERY anti military under 98% of circumstances (protecting a countries own border an exception!) and anti-war.... but I am also pro free speech....as well as I can usually understand differing viewpoints than mine. Although I don't believe the US should get involved in another war in the middle east, I can at least see that the situation that is going on now is not good and deserves to be looked at, watched and discussed.
Okay, so thinking. ISIS are the people trying to overthrown Assad and obviously going after the Iraqi government-and Shias in general.--- And yes, the US Gov has given some support to the rebels in Syria.... which very well could have fallen into the hands of some ISIS militants. And by support I mean, armed. I am curious about the training of ISIS militants... I know the US did train the mujahideen which became Al Qaeda. But obviously Al Qaeda and ISIS are not the same, as Al Qaeda has denounced ISIS. Obviously I don't know everything so..... Info storm?
:sunny:I love it when people get their information from Mass communications. Me I watch that stuff. It's the same stories in the same format. From here to England and back. On the same day. These "news outlets". Get their information from 2 or 3 different source. It's as plain as the eyeballs in someone's head these "news stories" are processed and sent down through the various news outlets like CNN, Fox, Reuters etc. That's the way its always been. In the old days (Vietnam). For them that do. lol. ABC, CBS, NBC "news". All carried the same "facts. There was little debate to those "facts". When it came to war. That hasn't changed. Which brings me to the web and government apologists. We know there are religious ones. How about government apologists. lol. They do exist. There are certain facts. That the government doesn't want to let go of. Either propaganda in regard to foreign countries. Internal propaganda (politics). The web is a closed loop in fact. Foreign countries really don't get a say so. So this ISIS group. What else do you have to know. See. Its all been laid out. You have all the information. Except the other sides version. See. The "news" will give that to you. I don't need some paid off wog on CNN either. To tell me what's going on. I'll just get a maypo and gerber answer to the questions I have about all of this. So they have billions now these new guys. No time to explain. Just time to make bombs and terrorize. Were not going to get their version. You already have had that analyzed for you. Americas always ready for a two way dialogue with their "war buddies". How about a little info from the opposition. I watched these idiots invade a bunch of rice farmers in Vietnam. Couldn't use the "bomb" there oh no. We considered it the right thing to do. Getting people sucked out of the lower strata's of our society to get shot to pieces. It all made sense. Nuclear standoff. 3 countries standing on principle. To the point where they would blow each other to smittreens. Just on principle. So we carpet bombed instead. How damn convenient. I think Americas full of crap. Anyone that believes their crap either A. Isn't using their sense and is really gullible. Or B. Theres something in it for them to purvey American crap. The former are a like herd of cattle or sheep if you prefer. The latter seem like yellowbellied beggars to me.
