It kind of reminds me of Joni Mitchell with Jaco Pastorius only it's one person. There is also something about a woman singing the lyrics vs a man. Hearing a woman deliver the line "You gave me head on an unmade bed while your driver waited in the street," for me is kind of novel as you rarely hear women sing about receiving oral sex outside of tacky hip hop songs. Then the way she had to change the lyric from "You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you'd make an exception" to "You told me again you preferred beautiful women, but for me you'd make an exception" kind of changes the original being about a tryst with Janice Joplin, to feeling like some type of sexual consolation prize.
