    mhmm

To the OP: how did you like the fry? do you feel nicely cooked or perhaps singed?

In the end whatever drug youre on, the worst youll have to deal with is some moment of existance

I would recommend 2-4 hits for your first time (depending on potency) because it's just not the same experince untill you lose your ego.

Haha, my friends asked the same thing when I tried to explain it to them. I didn't start hallucinating on the comedown, it's just that during the peak the hallucinations were of a different sort. I don't really know how to explain them, everything was super saturated and I would easily lose myself staring at the intertwining tree branches. It just wasn't until I came down that I began to notice the effects I usually see people discussing, such as the the posters melting and such. If you've ever used photoshop, it was like applying a liquify filter to the poster.

One aspect of tripping that I was not prepared for was the emotional aspect. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to this sort of thing, but for me tripping can be an extremely emotional experience.

no, you hallucinate the whole way through.

but sometimes.. the peak is too intense for you to worry about your visuals and so you might not sit back and get involved with them until after the peak.

After awhile, the visuals stopped being important or even a desired effect of the chemical for me. After watching your living room and the woods dance and flow so many times, you just get used to it. Same with the neon blossoms, the grid, and the popping/bubbling effect on open space. The mental pictures though, are always knew and always entirely different on my trips, but that much should be obvious. Anymore I take LSD to get in a goofy, happy mood, when it turns on me and gets emotional or overly introspective I just ride it out. LSD never was spiritual to me as mushrooms are, it's fantastic and beautiful but just not the same.

haha I'm the exact opposite. shrooms, even a high dose apparently, just "stretch" my ego and give me a pleasant, sensual body high. acid for me is the mystical one that reaches much deeper into me than shrooms, idkw

Maybe you havent had the right mushrooms? ;)
Haha nah Im just kidding burnabowl everyone is different. There has always been conflicting opinions on this very topic since the forums first began. The only times LSD ever disolved my ego have been painful. Not that mushroom dissolving cant be painful as well, but they are very different for me. Plus, I love the visuals from mushrooms moreso than the acid visuals, they are more, how can I put it? StRaNgE

Yeah I've assumed that I can't close the book on shrooms until I have some of the world's best. I did have around 6 g's the other day, but I don't know they're quality. I think it's a great testament that some react better to one rather than the other, saying that it is a personal realm that we access and since we are different, the ways of accessing ourselves would necessarily be different. I just wish I knew the ins and outs of why ppl react different to the same substance.

The mechanisms and progression of an LSD experience really is the same for all users.
    They Are:
    1. The come up: uneasy feeling, slight nausea, feeling like "something is right around the bend" increase in energy, slight visual differences. Starts within 15 min if a good dose; I.E. 150+mics is ingested and lasts about 30-45 mins. I always refer to this portion as "shifting gears".
    2. The Show Begins: Visual effects start to increase rapidly, trails, colors intensify, patterns, sounds start to be intense, music takes on a whole new intricacy, EVERYTHING can make you laugh, you can get stuck with an ear to ear grin that makes your jaw ache! all things take on a new significance, can be positive or negative, begins at about 60 mins and continues for a few hours. I refer to this portion as "The Circus" or "Being on Laughers"
    3. The Peak; If you consumed a good amount; 200mics or more for me, then this is when the fabled ego dissolution or ego death can occur. I say can because the set and setting of your trip, your expectations and willingness to "let go" are the determining factors. This is typified by a stripping away of all that you hold to be "you", all the labels you are attached to, all the relationships that you use to define yourself by, down to the most private inner core of "you" until the realization comes that even without all those defining labels and rules of conduct, you still "are" and all life around you just "is". It's an ineffiable experience and has to be gone through to "get it". It can be heaven or hell, you determine which.
Physically often you will be "couch locked" weak muscles, slight uncoordination, ect. Visually everything can "melt" and you can experience a "whiteout". Just relax and float downstream.
    4. The Plataeu: This is a period after returning from the peak experience where all the visuals are still going strong, music sounds awesome, Everything is imbued with a new sense of wonder and awe, and generally great feelings; if you went through heaven not hell. Can last for a few hours.
    5. The descent to normal: This is marked by decreased visuals, but everything is still vibrant, music is great to listen to during this period, especially on headphones. Your energy level mentaly rises back up and you start to be cognisant of the material that has been brought up by the experience. Great time to listen to music (classical is incredible for this portion, no heavy beat, psychotrance rave stuff, something mellow and flowing), close your eyes and allow your life, lessons, and wisdom from your trip to present itself to you through the "plays" that flow from your subconcious mind. I call this final portion "Thinkers" or just take in the splendor of a sunrise or sunset accordingly and allow your soul to speak to you.
All these "stages" can overlap and last longer or shorter, but there is a definite sequence to an LSD trip and that is pretty much it.
All the above is assuming an LSD only experience, though I do like to smoke some MJ towards the end myself.
Even though the sequence is predictable and consistant, the content will ALWAYS be different because that is provided by you and where your life situation is at.
So ends yet another long-winded post by PB_Smith. :p
    Thankyou for your patience.

    "Echoes of the Broadway Everglades..."
One of the few songs out there that brings me to tears when I just think about it. :) The slide on the buildup, the synth leading the notes up to the break down of Peter belting out those lyrics, the bass thumping through your heart, friend people just dont know when it comes to music what is really out there lol. Everyone has tastes, sure, but that album is like Bach, if you dont like it, you just dont get it.
Anyway the whiteout you mention, what a quality choice of words to express that sensation. I remember when I mixed mushrooms with LSD, and I was caught saying "How much whiter can light get?!?!" haha beautiful stuff
    God Bless +

The moment of impact bursts through the silence and in a roar of sound, the final second is prolonged in a world of echoes as if the concrete and clay of Broadway itself was reliving its memories. The last great march past. Newsman stands limp as a whimper as audience and event are locked as one. Bing Crosby coos "You don't have to feel pain to sing the blues, you don't have to holla - you don't feel a thing in your dollar collar." Martin Luther King cries "Everybody Sing!" and rings the grand old liberty bell. Leary, weary of his prison cell, walks on heaven, talks on hell. J.F.K. gives the O.K. to shoot us, sipping Orange Julius and Lemon Brutus. Bare breasted cowboy double decks the triple champion. Who needs Medicare and the 35c flat rate fare, when Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are dancing through the air? From Broadway Melody stereotypes the band returns to 'Stars and Stripes' bringing a tear to the moonshiner, who's been pouring out his spirit from the illegal still. The pawn broker clears the noisy till and clutches his lucky dollar bill.

With her mythical madonnas still walking in their shades:
Lenny Bruce, declares a truce and plays his other hand.
Marshall Mcluhan, casual viewin', head buried in the sand.
Sirens on the rooftops wailing, but there's no ship sailing.
Groucho, with his movies trailing, stands alone with his punchline failing.
Klu Klux Klan serve hot soul food and the band plays 'In the Mood'
The cheerleader waves her cyanide wand, there's a smell of
    peach blossom and bitter almonde.
Caryl Chessman sniffs the air and leads the parade, he knows
in a scent, you can bottle all you made.
There's Howard Hughes in blue suede shoes, smiling at the
    majorettes smoking Winston Cigarettes.
And as the song and dance begins, the children play at home with needles, needles and pins.

I have listened to this Album countless times since I first got it in 1975.
The music is unsurpassed for the genre, Gabrial's vocals are phenomenol, and the story is multi-layered and thought provoking. I have seen online discussions about what's the best song, ect., I just take the whole thing as a single work. I can't even really listen to just a song from it, I always end up listening to the whole story.
Those of you that have not experienced The Lamb, it really is one of the ideal pieces of music to listen to when on LSD, if not THE ideal work to experience on many levels.
    Try it, you'll like it.

I always listened to it during mushroom trips, and listened to Yes during acid trips :)
I remember blasting Gates Of Delerium sitting by the speakers at 4am once on a few blotter hits when I was 16
