Bill Cosby is 82 years old, and blind, with underlying medical conditions but they still won't let him out - good let him rot in jail.
I’m wondering why there was a trial if the “technicality” (the prosecution going back on its word to not prosecute), happened before the trial? It probably feels like reliving the ordeal all over again for his victims even though he wasn’t acquitted, it gives off the appearance that he was innocent all along.
There shouldn't have been, that's the point. Legally, a new prosecutor can't simply negate agreements made by the old one. During the new trial, some of the prosecution's strategies were based on statements made by Cosby after the first trial, after which he had been assured he wouldn't be prosecuted again. He surely wouldn't have said those things had he not had that assurance. It does give that appearance, which is unfortunate.. Believe me, I'm no fan of Bill Cosby. What he did was disgusting and the only solace to take is that he did serve 3 years. Having a man of that fame, wealth & privilege locked up is a good thing and I'm glad it happened. Too often, they get away with it. Of course, victims and critics will say that 3 years isn't enough. I agree, but face it, if he had been sentenced to 50 years, the victims would still feel that wasn't enough time.
Definitely unfortunate, because people tend to equate incarceration with guilt and having a trial thrown out as innocence. Cosby has maintained his innocence so it’s a win for him but I believe he was/is guilty. So, it wasn’t that the verdict was overturned, it sounds like the trial shouldn’t have taken place due to the breach of conduct on the part of prosecution. Slow and steady always wins the race. Sometimes, prosecutors become over zealous and get sloppy which is what seems to have happened here.
Bill Cosby Says R. Kelly Got 'Railroaded' With Guilty Verdict, Believes Singer's Sex Crimes Conviction Will Be Overturned Just Like His
Sure . Nothing wrong with enslaving young girls for power and sex. Or drugging them and fucking them while they're out cold. Pillars of the community, I'd say. To add: does he think anyone gives a shit what he thinks or says?
Overturned just like his? You mean he's going to serve 3 years? R. Kelly: "Please Bill, don't stand up for me. If you want to help, don't help."
