If a policeman ever laid a hand on either of my little ones for whatever reason, I would knock him the fuck out.

What a fucking disgrace.

did you read the story?

the kid cut himself 3 times with a peice of broken glass, most likely the child is going to have alot more problems later in life due to his mental illness then being tazed.

The real question is why would a child cut himself 3 times with glass?

Maybe he had a bad home life, maybe he was just some crazy little 6 year old kid, but that is no reason to put a stun gun to him! I have a 7 year old brother, and if a cop did that to him, I'd kill someone!

The thing is that cops have been given tazers recently accross the board and they are tazer happy. They're so happy and giddy about trying out their new toys that they're using them whenever they can.

I will provide links if you all like.

Cops recently tazered a 75 year old woman. As mentioned in this thread.

Cops tazered a 12 year old girl who was drunk.

Cops in my town tazered a guy to death for not putting his hands behind his head quick enough. They gave him one then while he was on the ground not moving they asked him to do it again and when he didn't was tazered again. He wasn't moving because it had sent him into cardiac arrest.

Incidents of cops misusing their tazers are skyrocketing at an alarming rate.

These bitches are just happy about their new toys.

My friend had his van stolen and then found by the cops with the theives still in it. One of the cops told my friend that he wished the people in the van would have given him more trouble so he could have used his new tazer.

Agreed. I think if my 7 year old brother had a piece of glass and was cutting himself I could remove the glass from him and shake the shit out of him before he even knew what was going on.

oh yeh i know what you mean, before tazzers it was mace and the batons there was and still is miss use all over the place.

cops are not trained to be nice or gentle they are trained to use force to get control over the scene. add in stress from the job and you have and explosive combination, also alot of times individuals who have a violent behavior are allowed to be police officers which does not make for a good cop.

really it is our society too blame that allows and even incourages excessive force from police officers.

Yes the cops used excessive force, but I would say I far more worried for the welfare of the child in his daily life. What would lead a boy to take a peice of broken glass and cut himself three times , this is clearly not normal behavior for a six year old.

It seams alot of people don't care about the boy's life it could be an abusive household, a crack whore mother, or maybe a step dad ass raping him every night, this is all ok so long as no cop tazers him.

Angel, that was "Daily Show-style" sarcastic deadpan right?

Sprout, it's becoming pretty clear that the reason for this growing pandemic of police corruption is cuz they know they WON'T BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for their actions. They do it cuz they know they'll still have their job the next day, week, 10 years. They do it cuz their bosses' bosses pat them on the back for it.
The problem goes all the way up to the top.

Welcome to the age of Empire.

No, the real question SHOULD be what the fuck were the cops thinking when they tazed a six year old boy.....he had a piece of glass, not a loaded pistol. they could have EASILY grabbed him up without ever having to do what they did. I have a six year old, and a nine year old. Unless this was some kind of freak kid with super-human strength hyped up on PCP, I hardly think what they did to him was reasonable.

If a parent was to use such shit to make their child behave at home, it would be considered child abuse (and rightly so.) but since these fucks happen to be wearing a uniform of course SOMEBODY is gonna find a reason to excuse it.

If a cop can't control a 6year old with out resorting to weapons, they shouldn't be a cop, PERIOD...i mean they could have just picked the kid up!

I would have to agree, it sounds like it would be easy to take glass away from a six year old.
This occured in a school, so where were all of the adults, the teachers and the principle. The article says the child held back a security guard before the cops arrive, so if it was so easy for an adult to take the glass away, why didn't someone? There would have been more then enough adults in the school to handle a simple six year old.
Even if the cops had not tazed him (which i am not saying they should have) three or four adults smacking down some six year old kid would most likely be considered excessive force and everyone would still be talking about it.

and yes cops do make mistakes...........there not perfect

Everyone makes a mistake once in a while. BUT i think that police, knowing the law and enforcing it, should be held responsible for their mistakes. If you're driving drunk and kill a pregnant woman crossing the street, it's safe to assume your ass is going to jail. But when a cop does it and ends up killing an entire family, he gets released from jail with no bail, and most often does no serious jail time.

Plus on the tazer issue, we had a friend who's van was stolen right after the cops had been given their new playtoys. When they found the van and the guy who stole it, and called our friend out to the scene, one ofthe cops told him he wished the guy would have "acted up" so he would have had a reason to use it. To me, that says it all. It's not that they're making mistakes in very intense situations, they're looking for excuses to use it, and then trying to cover their asses when people don't like it.
