    During my 10 years at Heathrow, due to my medical background, I was appointed to check that all condoms sold in the airport met British standards. I handled about 5 million of them a year.
    You can imagine the fun on a security check when security staff had to check my 25,000 condoms.
    Needless to say, I never lived it down and after that, I was affectionately known as "Johnie".

    From CDC, 2017 numbers of reported cases:

    Chlamydia│1.7 million cases; 22% increase since 2013

    Gonorrhea│ 555,608 cases; 67% increase since 2013

    Primary and Secondary Syphilis│30,644 cases; 76% increase since 2013

    Congenital Syphilis│918 cases; 154% increase since 2013

    The report notes that gay and bisexual men and older populations are the fastest growing new syphyllis case demographics.

    In the addenda, one graph suggests HSV2 is holding steady with a slight decline, likely because of herpes medications and carriers being responsible. Herpes still has no cure, only control.

    Personally, I’m in a monogamous relationship and I have an IUD. He had a partner with herpes decades ago, and he’s talked at length of how it all worked. Basically, they did a lot mastrubating and showing off for each other.

    If my situation were to change, I’d return to condoms for my own health.

    Hate them! The only time I've used them was back in college with my first real GF. One time the damn thing broke, and I didn't know it until I pulled out. Scared the hell out of us! Fortunately she didn't get pregnant.

    Fortunately I showed my oats back before HIV. Not proud of it, but had 3 one nighters without them. My live in GF, ex wife and current wife were on the pill.
