tbh, I took .5mg of xanax lastnight to sleep (which is a very small dose) because I'm too scared to stop those cold turkey. I realized like a month ago that my benzo use what getting out of control and started really keeping track of how much I take... and got down to .5 a day for the past week. I imagine maybe today I'll half that. (By a recovering addict, I guess I mean I'm recovering from opiates. Not 100% off the benzos yet, but definitely will be soon.) It's funny cause having a "problem" with benzos is nothing I would ever really imagine having, I started doing them years ago to help with sleep.. then after a whlie when the pain pills stopped working so good, I used em to help kick my opiates in. It's all a fucked up cycle really. :nopity:
That honestly seems like an awesome idea. Not for me, but my boyfriend (who is 30) is definitely at a point where he wants to figure shit out. He lost his job (just as a warehouse worker, nothing great) about a year ago and ever since has been thinking about college or tech school. I imagine he'd be good about something like this. What area are you from, if you don't mind me asking? I live in a pretty industrial area, I imagine this trade is probably something that's booming around here. (the word booming is mad gay)
yeah they will pay the tuition. but you left out the clause .. If you drop out, you'll owe them 10grand or more. Im sure its on the contract. Ill bet all my green balls on it..
Priss....I live in Louisville, KY. The good thing about Ind. Maint. Is you can work in ANY type of Industrial atmosphere. The pay around here is usually around $20 an hour....give or take. If you or ur bf have any questions feel free to ask. Orison... I haven't seen the paperwork yet, they just offered me the job last night. But I know it doesn't only cover degrees. They mentioned a couple classes independent of a degree program that they encourage me to take. But usually if you don't complete the course you pay the company back, whatever it is they lost.
I'm currently enrolled in Full Sail University Online for my B.A. in Music Production. I wanted to go to school on campus, but the degree is a lot more and it's about a 2 hour drive to the campus.
PM away I like Louisville....it's a really fun city. I don't see myself living anywhere else in this state though.
I am currently back in college. I had been majoring in Environmental Science and then right before I was going to graduate I had a nervous breakdown and ended up failing a whole bunch of classes and got disqualified from the school. But now I am back and I am majoring in Botany instead and I am much happier and it will all be worth it in the end. I am going to have a career that I love and I am not going to be a drone who is just doing whatever to make money.
Botany program in Humboldt......I bet that's a fun crowd I've honestly thought about studying botany, but was worried about finding a good job in that field.
applied arts and tech college perfect grades on both certification programs I took (auto tech and HD equip/industrial tech) it was a total waste of time ...I met a classmate once after we were finished and he introduced me to his dad as his "teacher" lol...the actual instructor sucked so bad that I didnt even realise it at the time but I had sort of taken a "crew" of guys from the class and had them helping me make extra cash doing repairs...it turns out they learned more from me than the instructor ever taught them having those good grades and certificates did come in handy later on for getting licensed I can make 20 an hour up to 300 an hour depending on the job (self employed) i just dont work many hours lol
Think Ethnobotany and Google Richard E Shultes, Terrence Mckenna or some of the other folks who are in that field. If I were starting over I'd sure look at a field like botany/ethnobotany. As the world give way to more tech oriented life someone better know about the natural world we depend on. Wade Davis wrote a book (One River) about Shultes life in the Amazon Basin. What a wild life! Just a thought...
Probably going to construction school this april for three months...gonna work for the summer and then pay for college myself this september, i wanna get a accociates atleast before iam 25...Iam a little late but whatever.....Looking forward to the studying..Might get into mathematics
that's funny I'm actually taking botany right now. I hear we have the best program in california or like the u.s as well
Never was any doubt in my mind that I would go to college although I was the first in the family to do so. I knew what I wanted t do and knew I wanted to learn. From grade school on I knew I wanted to work with people, to understand how society works and affects individuals. I got a BS in Sociology at Eastern Illinois University, a boring little school with good a academic reputation. Got into a great paying job on my first inteview and stayed at it for about 10 years till I decided to go to Southern Illinois University and got a Masters in Social Work. I worked in a state mental hospital for years with a good salary and great benefits. The only regret I have is not getting into a Doctorate program. I'm semi-retired with a part time private practice now. I wish life were longer cause I'd start a new educational tract studying Cultural Anthropology. The way it is I'll just experience the field by going into other cultures and interacting with folks. If there were no university systems I guess I'd find a wise man or mentor and learn that way.
You ain't just woofin they did. The tribal folks can make one helluva bouquet and for the sake of science you had to sample stuff. :dizzy2:
Try to get in an a union apprenticeship , the schooling is free , the best out there and in many you get an accociates degree for free . Most building trades are four or five years and you get paid well and free school .
