I refuse to buy into that line of thinking. But besides that, bernie CAN win. He has broken records with his fundraising campaign. He has legions of supporters and might gain even more if people like you come to their senses and realize he does have a good chance at winning.

I'm for Bernie Sanders. We need a sane leader in this time of insanity.

Why? Do voters win prizes if their candidate gets elected?

If they are rich enough to make major contributions and do a little lobbying on the side, Yeah... They do.

Sanders has said that certain Wall St bankers would have been up on charges if he had been president. And if he becomes president ---he will attempt to straighten out the
rigged game played there. He speaks about the issues that actually help the working class, IMO. The rest of them will be the same as always,if not worse. Clinton will probably get in, which means --the MACHINE wins again. BUT-----she at the very least will be better than the repubs, who have proven time and again for whom they work. I certainly do not get why any working people would vote republican, unless it's that the talking heads ,(Limbaugh, Hannity, Weiner , Larson, et al, have been able to displace any actual, sensible thought from their brains.

They are not nice people. I used to listen to Lim-fuck-baugh in the 90s and I heard him reference Chelsea Clinton as the dog in the white house and refer to Gwenn Ifill (news anchor on PBS) as a washerwoman. Yes--she's black. This kind of shit is where this all started , IMO. "people" with no respect for others.

Kind of a stupid question, but there seems to be Hillary supporters.

I like Bernie a lot, he's very green! He has good idea's with every issue, from what I have read. I just worry about his age and health. I really wish he was in the media more often. It seems that all the bullshit stupid shit gets all the coverage for the candidates. At least when Bernie's team read Hillary's files he got some coverage. He seems like a really great guy and I expect a lot from him!

Republicans think Bernie is a socialist. There is a big difference between Bernie Sanders and Hitler. Not so much a difference between Trump and Hitler!

    FEEL THE BERN!!!

Currently, according to a Fox News poll from today, Sanders is 13 points ahead of Hillary for the New Hampshire primary.
And Hillary is now only 15 points ahead for the general election, according to the same poll.

I checked Real Clear Politics averages of presidential polls and, except for Florida and New Hampshire, Clinton has a lead of varying amounts in the other few polls I checked.
But, those gaps are also closing in all of those polls... slowly for the most part, but still... she's falling and he's climbing.
In Florida, where polls results haven't moved in awhile, Hillary has a wide margin and the most recent movement were identical upticks for both of them.
But in New Hampshire, Sanders has a lead of an average 4.6 points... where the most recent change was Bernie climbing by 0.4 points, while Hillary fell by 2.3 points.

There have also been a lot of polls that show Bernie as a stronger candidate against just about all Republicans.
(I don't know the exact polls off hand.)

And if Bernie asks for, and gets, Elizabeth Warren as VP, you can bet the whole thing will swing wildly in his favor.
That isn't to say there aren't other wise choices for him out there.
He could always go with Cory Booker, who could also provide a decent upswing in the polls for Sanders.

So, there's a really good chance that Bernie will get the nomination.

But, beyond the electability of Sanders, what is it that you would need to know that could persuade you to vote for Sanders.
Or rather, what issues are important to you that you believe Hillary is stronger on?

Bernie is a on one or two issues candidate. Get rid of big banks. Ok, then what?
Free college education for everyone, even those that don't deserve it. wtf?

What about other issues, like fixing the infrastructure? Improving our education system. I could go on.
Lastly, as someone said up thread, he is too old.
ps if Sanders does get the dem nomination, say hello to president Trump.

If he can function fine for at least four years he's not too old at all. Is that such a big if?

Bernie is ahead of trump in polls, I thought we had already established that.

He has outlined his plan on improving our infrastructure. He wants to put a lot of money into our infrastructure and create jobs along the way, much in the tradition of old school democrats like FDR who put Americans back to work with the CCC and other programs.

Have you visited his website? He addresses all the major issues and outlines his plan, perhaps a visit to the site will clear up some of your questions.

It should also be noted that a lot of economists have reviewed and approved his economic plans.

Edit: forgot to touch on the free college eduction thing. I doubt it will be available to "those who don't deserve it." You have to maintain a certain GPA to qualify for federal aid right now, I doubt that will change.

    What happens after four years?

Remember what happened the last time we had a 70+ year old president?

If you think Bernie only has plans for one or two issues, then you aren't following the information that's readily available.

First, he's not advocating for getting rid of big banks, he's talking about "breaking them up"... for example, make them split off residential and commercial banking into separate entities.
And it's not about who does or doesn't deserve college, he's suggesting higher education should be a right and provided in the same way public high school is provided for.

As Meliai said, he has extensive plans to tackle our infrastructure, which include creating millions of jobs.

As for his age, I don't think he's too old and unless you're his personal doctor, you really don't know if his age is a hindrance or not.
It's just as likely that he would be fine to be president for 8 years.
He certainly has enough fire in his belly for it.

And if you're truly interested on how he plans to do everything he says he wants to do, including lowering the deficit, check this out:
How Does Bernie Sanders Plan to Pay for all this "Free" Stuff?

I like Sander's ideas. I want him to win. I can't afford a republican president. I would like to vote for him but I usually vote the way my family does. Right now I don't think anyone knows who we're going to vote for but I'd like to see it be Sanders. What should I be telling people if I want them to vote for Sanders; specifically my parents?

Yeah, I shoulda warned you about that.
    :D

A lot of good info on that page, despite the huge picture of Bernie riding a Unicorn while shooting rainbows out of his hands.
(I find it's grown on me, but when I shared it on G+ I changed the story pic to a pleasant normal picture.)

I hate to say it, but if you're family decided to vote for Trump, I'd strongly advise not following their lead.
(I have no idea if they ever would, I'm jus sayin...)

But more importantly, what do your parents want to see change or get better about the country?
There are any number of concerns they could want to see dealt with the most.
And Bernie has a lot of awesome answers.

I just don't know which to give without knowing what they are focused on.
