Also appearantly in Brooklyn around 125 000 people who changed their affiliation to Democrat well within the required time frame were not on the roll when they showed up to vote.

Bernie won the democratic nomination in my district and surrounding areas here in upstate
New York. I looked at breakdown , too, and saw he won big in upstate New York but lost in the city.
    Dammit!
Yeah, we had to wait until noon to vote here.

All the Jews apparently decided he isn't Jewish enough. Ironically, he's the most successful Jewish candidate for President in American history. But he isn't religious, so Hillary is perceived as being more sympathetic to Israel.

The theory behind closed primaries is that the other party or independents can't influence your parties choice for an office.

So it prevents a bunch of Democrats or Independents from voting for say, Kasich just to screw Trump out of delegates.

Yeah, when Grandpa Walton (Bernie) decided to returned to Walton’s Mountain (The Green Mountains) to take a break with 5 primaries scheduled for next week that was a strong clue

Straight out of Mittens Romney's playbook. It's weird how obvious some of the towel throwers are and STILL think they are fooling people. OK, sure, they fool the really dumb ones.

    http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/04/bernie-sanders-democratic-party-new-york-primary-213829 'Bernie's failed revolution'

The second paragraph in this article begins with the following: "And yet, the “revolution” that Sanders called for didn’t show up."

Why is that? We all saw the fanfare; the 'feel the Bern" slogans and yet they didn't show, why?

Where were the people that were supposed to be the true supporters: the young educated Collage students and couples? Did they love the lights and idea of being part of fighting the establishment but were too consumed with their twitter and Facebook 'friends/followers' and having a safe space to run to when someone writes, on a side walk in chalk, 'Trump for president'.

He tried to use his roots as a protester and revolutionist in his campaign but failed to nail the coffin. Unfortunately, our society is becoming a self absorb society. Where no one can voice an opinion or express their views on political debates for fear of being reprimanded for 'offending' someone.

A revolution takes courage and balls; to have the ability to say what you mean and mean what you say, not to say what someone else wants to hear and hear only what you want to hear.

Bernie Sanders didn't fail, we failed him.

    Oh bullshit.

His revolution hasnt failed. He doesnt need to win the nomination to change the tone of political conversation and i dont think winning the nomination was ever his real goal.

There was a record number of arrests last week in the nations capitol - protestors protesting money in politics. The mainstream media hardly touched on it at all but it still happened. Shall we tell everyone who was arrested they have failed the revolution?

Should we tell the wolfpac - a political organization started in 2011 with the goal of overturning Citizens United - that they have failed?

Or the millions of millenials who, thanks to Bernie, now believe they can have a political voice. Millenials outnumber the baby boomers and the baby boomers one day will die and leave the millenials in charge. We're talking the most progressive, diverse, tolerant generation in history and they overwhelmingly support a candidae running on a platform of equality. Should we tell them to give up and go home because they have failed the revolution?

And lets not forget the majority of millenials identify as independents - and are bernie or bust. The democratic party is about to implode on itself for being pro establishment and ignoring its youngest voters - but nothing to see here guys. Politics as usual.

Bernie won as far as i am concerned.....and the expression my dad used to say keeps coming to my mind, if trump or Clinton become president..."I hope the country likes the f'ing it is going to get..."

Bernie made alot of progress and it counts still. i don't care what anyone says....and as far as counting goes....my brother sent me an saying prince once said....about his age....when you start counting, you age.....just a tidbit to throw out here....which has nothing to do with what i said that bernie still counts...not literally.

I am disappointed, yes...of course, i am....but I also expected Hillary would win NY in numbers which I am not sure are not rigged some what.

The democratic party started the long disposal of the Clintons when they rushed Obama to the top seat. The "Clinton Machine" was great with 80s and 90s style politics, but the world has changed. Even with the press running interference for her, Hillary's dirt is becoming more obvious. That's one distinct advantage Bernie has, no bodies in his closets. There was a time when democrats united into a powerful front for national elections. Now they seem to be mired in the kinds of bickering we expect from establishment republicans. Back then the party aligned behind the candidate most likely to beat the republicans. Now it seems the democratic party wants to be the determining factor, wants to lead or even ASSIGN the candidate after a shark pit campaign season that reeks of the GOP playbook.

This has been the weirdest election season I have seen since Reagan slapped Carter like a school boy or Bill made Bush 1 studder. Politics is my favorite game and the presidential elections are my superbowl. My biggest fear is that legalization of marijuana will go on hold regardless of who wins. Trump doesn't care, and the democrats haven't done crap about it in decades. Even when they owned both houses they did NOTHING. Medical marijuana bloomed in California under BUSH of all things. Why? Because he was too busy to care.

Would anyone make marijuana legal in all 50 states at this point? i wish it was legal.
I would not mind some now....lol....but am I going to go ask some stranger on the street? no.....

I also want fracking stopped and many other things about the environment stopped, and those things were on bernie's list of things to do....the other two may make things worse in some areas.....

    bernie is my candidate.

Today Bernie has called out the low income and the young people who are not coming out and voting in large numbers as his reasoning for falling behind; so either he sees something diehards do not or it is just an excuse and he is no different than any other politician on the low receiving end of the votes.
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/04/24/bernie-sanders-im-behind-because-poor-people-dont-vote.html?intcmp=hpbt1

If he was for the young and poor of America, then why call out the very ones you supposedly stand for? Just makes him come across as just another typical politician, promise promise then blame everyone for not winning. And to further that, where were all those young people (millennials)? Yes they outweigh the baby boomers and we see now where their priorities are.

So, are they secretly voting for Trump or Hillary? Or locked away in some safe space with their fingers in their ears rocking in a corner and shouting " I'm offended please stop" over and over again? Millennials, I hold little faith in their decisions moving forward. Look no further then the BS on college campuses where chalk graffiti cause panics. I know they are not the majority but it is just the beginning.

Safe Spaces, this is from an article a yr ago, see how it has escalated recently. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/22/opinion/sunday/judith-shulevitz-hiding-from-scary-ideas.html

I am on no side of any politicians this election and I would vote for the Greens. Third party is always an option and due to this two party system, they never get the attention they deserve.

What's truly ironic is that Safe Spaces are exactly what the Jim Crowe racists and the segregationists always wanted.

I'm so tired of hearing the same crap about millenials, actually thought about making a thread about it.

I am on the older side of the generation, i was born in 84. So sometimes I identify with millenials and sometimes i identify with gen x.

But people have really lobbied some ridiculous criticism towards this generation. The safe space thing you brought up? That happened on one college campus and now everyone acts like it is representative of the entire generation as a whole.

    Some more criticisms
-millenials want free stuff, are entitled, lazy, easily offended, etc etc. All ridiculous. If anything millenials have been spoonfed the american dream as children and now are dealing with the harsh reality that they'll never reap the same benefits of growing up in america as their parents and grandparents did. If anything a sense of entitlement was instilled by their parents' generation.

Anyway, didnt click your foxnews link but if Bernie called out an entire generation i do agree he is in the wrong for that.

Although millenials do overwhelmingly support Sanders, there are a lot who support third party candidates, are too cynical to vote, or too apathetic. And in the south there are plenty of republican young people. So while millenials are more left leaning than prior generations it doesnt neccessarily mean the generation as a whole will throw their support towards one candidate. I do believe it will change the face of politics in years to come.

Or maybe not. The 60s produced the most forward, free thinking generation america has ever seen and yet we've seen a huge shift to the right in the decades following the 60s.

Sorry for the rant. I too will probably vote green party in the general election.
