This is an elitist and completely mean spirited statement. This whole thread is some thinly veiled attempt to avoid saying what you really want to say... that you're intolerant of people who are overweight
I'm not a he and while we're on the topic I'm a professional chef who knows exactly how to cook a healthy meal. I also know the costs and the time it takes to do it. And the OP was talking about soda and you dragged take out into the debate and now the OP is patting you on the back for doing little more than moving the goal posts during the debate. And takeout isn't inherently unhealthy either. You can pretty much get takeout from anywhere these days. Including salads, vegan entrees, fish, etc. So, again, not sure how takeout was even part of the initial discussion but if you want to include it, I don't see how its automatically unhealthy
I think that was me... I was saying my weight will go up for all the takeout I'm getting now that Lent has ended/Easter has happened.
Just because someone is overweight doesn't mean they can't also be intelligent. They may not mind being overweight, they may have binge eating issues, or the trauma that goes along with binge eating issues--there are innumerable reasons. Not to mention that society is stacked against remaining thin in so many ways (abundant and affordable junk food, convenience culture, reliance on vehicles to get everywhere, etc.).
I wholeheartedly agree. I shift and contort my diet at times to try and accommodate eating out, or take out as the case may be. Sometimes it works, such that my weight (which I measure daily) stays roughly the same. Other times it does not work, such that my weight increases because I lack the discipline to avoid an additional snack or something. I agree though. It feels like I'm hungry for weird reasons, and hungry more than my body needs to eat. I've sort of decided that people in this country just eat too much food!
You think they don’t know that unhealthy food choices keep them overweight? Do you think telling them will enlighten them to some new information and change their lives? It won’t.
