You speak of a nudist "setting", so you are talking of group nudity. You are saying shaving in a group is an "emphasis", what I would call "expression". It is odd that ANY nudist would speak against "expression" since uninhibited expression is what nudity principally is!!

Incidentally, none of my comments on shaving presumed a group setting. I believe they apply even if nudity is only practiced just between companions.

 

The original post was about the poster stating visiting a nudist resort and questioned about shaved/not shaved.
Personally I favor pubic hair, more the better. But within a nudist setting, rules are specific about not emphasizing genital areas and hair sculpturing/possible shaving to better expose that region is not favored, but that is our experience and rules at various nudist resorts. In most places there are actual rules written down.
Social nudism is about social interaction with others who are nude, and friendship is valued as who you are versus your social status.

 

Thanks for the "heads up" about rules at nudist resorts. I'll be sure to inquire first and avoid those that have restrictions. But I can see how resort owners would differ on what manifestation of nudism they want to provide for the public. An owner might not want attention drawn to genitalia especially because it was a "pure nudism" resort that encouraged families with children to attend. I am sure that Joe Biden would readily agree to not shave when he went to a nudist resort that had children attending.

 

DominicD, regardless how "free thinking" nudist resorts want to call themselves, the ones I know have a rule book. One no no is any gential jewelry/cock rings, etc., Not allowed. The catch all is not to bring attention to genitals. Pubic hair is quite evident some are well trimed others not.

I've never been to a nude resort, just alone at home and at the nude beach. I can see how a resort is less "free" because people are paying and a business can't have upset patrons refusing to, well, pay! So I see the sense in denying genital jewelry. Since total shaving is a part of society now even for people who aren't nudists, the resort is supported in letting people do what they normally do... except without clothes.

However, in the same vein, people now have a myriad of styles of the hair on their heads. From shaved bald all the way to purple and blue. From "bed head" to corn rows. It would be difficult to tell someone that had a very sculpted hair-do that they had to leave their pubes in a frazzle. I guess it will come down to the "environment" the owner wants to foster. Its all good.

 

DominicD- A nudist resort owner has to deal with the business profile and theri standards, and legal. Rules have to be standard for all to be fair. For example one rule, no alcohol allowed. Rules are established too to ensure a safe environment for the paying guests. Suggestion box as well is always available.
In society in general rule, laws exist to avoid anarchy. Human behavior can tend to "stray",

 

So again, the question gravitates around the genitals. Questioning the real motivation of the initial writer.

All nudists resorts steer away from genital emphasis-that is not what nudism is about. Of course nudists are like anyone else but it's mostly the social interaction that is important, not emphasis on the genital areas.

 

Of course, this is for beach nudism only and not appropriate for resorts, unless its one of the rare adult-minded resorts that doesn't care if men wander around with erections and women's nipples are hard and their labia are swollen and hanging.

You know those shiny metallic looking reflectors that people use to tan all sides of their face, chin and neck at the same time? My girlfriend has a small one of those about 6 in wide that she wedges under her **** to tan it on all over. I have no problem with what ever people want to do down there. Sugaring...art of hair removal was invented by Cleopatra. Hair removal has a long history of coming and going. It is not a new thing in fact being hairy cam "back" in popularity with the "natural" idea of hippies in the 1960's

 

Do it, I’m sure you’ll like it. I definitely prefer it to having any hair down there, and it’s much easier to keep up with once you’re smooth.

 

I have found that once I started going naked all the time, I prefer to be clean shaven. Prior to that I never gave it a thought. But now that it is out there and visible to myself all the time I prefer to keep it shaven.

But I have to admit, I still have issues with keeping it all smooth, especially where it comes to the balls. I have tried the shave cream and razor, but that always scares me. Have tried the electric razor and that I also have to be careful. But that seems to be working for me.

 

I have been clean shaved for years. I asked my wife to shave for me, she replied what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I use female razors and clear shaving cream. I try to shave ever other day. I admit at first it was time consuming but now it is just a few minutes.

I'm a bit hairy, and at first I started with just a trim "down below." Then I read an article in the old Maxim magazine about shaving and I've never gone back to hairy.

Tha problem now is that shaving has almost become a hobby! I shaved my hairy back, then my underarms! I still like the hair on my chest and stomach. Tried totally smooth once, but it wasn't for me.
