If you ever take your kids on planes they literally have a better chance of dying in a plane crash if you fly often enough. Taking babies on needless car rides gives them far greater chances of dying.

Of course nobody straps their baby in and takes to the highway for no reason. There is indeed risk, and not just to the baby.

Death from car rides is a stupid and irrelevant comparision because the assumption is that the child is getting something out of the deal, living life, experiencing things. Surely depriving ourselves of many experiences might make us safer but we would not be living free. Cutting off his sexual parts likewise deprives him of the freedom to experience life to the fullest.

Death from circumcision is very rare; 1 in 10,000 US circumcisions kills a healthy baby. Circumcision kills as many babies as SIDS. Circumcision is 27 times as deadly per patient as the Gardasil vaccine. But if you somehow had inside info that 1 in 10,000 were the odds on tonight's million dollar lotto, you'd buy thousands of $1 tickets in hopes of a huge pay day. 1 in 10,000 is real, tangible; not negligible.

Death's not a very strong reason to oppose infant circumcision. The main reason to protect infants from non-consensual amputation of their sexual parts is that it's an uneccessary risky procedure that has (with certainty) dramatic effects on his and his partners' sexual experience, and he (the owner of the penis) has the sole moral right to offer informed consent to cosmetic penis reduction surgery.

A couple weeks ago a 52-day-old baby in Indianapolis died within hours of his circumcision. The body was promptly cremated so we may never know the whole truth, but the mom blogged that doctors (the ones who did the cutting) assured her that the circumcision had nothing to do with the baby's death. The 1 in 10,000 figure from Bollinger 2010 includes cases like this that were re-investigated to find the circumcision as the root cause leading to the death, unlike the AAFP's head-in-the-sand number that would accept heart failure as the cause, ignoring the blood loss from circumcision that led to shock, which led to heart failure.

note-only a female type I circumcision the closest to male circumcision. meaning removal of clitoral hood. some people think this give similar protection as male circumcision.

i will never allow my children male or female to be circumcised.

New here. Registered just to make one post and you'll never hear from me again. I found this thread because I was just surfing curiously about uncircumcised penis tastes for women. I became fascinated with some of the topics here and disgusted with others... I literally read the entire thread, as I am an extremely fast reader.

I am 28, straight, cut, and have a great sex life...sometimes I think I have a little too much sensitivity down there, so that should not be the issue here.

Aesthetically, I believe a cut penis just plain looks better; more muscular, and 'manly'. I have a very hard erection, and I like how it looks, but it's all personal preference; so that as well should not be the issue here.

I do not hold any grudges against my parents for having it done, as it was too early for me to remember; so no memory of pain... to me that makes it not the issue. I'm a farm-boy: Pain is for those who have time to cry about it... yes I'm very callous.

What do women find more appealing and/or stimulating? Who really cares... I am 28 and this is the first time I've ever even thought about the difference; just a curiosity. In the end, it's up to the man to choose what he wants.

Medical rational/hygiene: My penis is nice and clean; never had any smell complaints, but I've been down on women who smelled. If uncut is properly cared for there won't be any smells and disease is minimized. And medically, if nothings wrong why 'fix' it. I still have my wisdom teeth and my appendix(yes, I know aged removal of this is dangerous). So, medically/hygienically speaking this is not the issue.

So what it really boils down to is choice. The infant does not have the choice... and that, in my opinion, is wrong. I do not view it as mutilation, but I wish I would have been given the choice when I was old enough to understand the differences. Again, no grudges, but I'd like to know the choice I could have made.

That being said; I am going to attempt a minimal restoration, because i liked something mentioned about a loose cut. Two reasons for this: One, simple curiosity; and two I had a botched surgery on a penal fracture a little over a year ago and would like to 'hide' the scars.

Lastly, something I do want to rant about is the dumb-ass near the beginning that confused agnostics and atheists. That moron is an atheist(doesn't believe in God). I'm agnostic, meaning I don't believe or disbelieve in God, but am open to proof either way. My current view is that God was a Monkey, and is now Human... hey, evolution happened; time to admit it.(jk)

Cut,and my shrink told me that uncut dudes have more sensation than those who are cut! I never knew that ,so I'm almost pissed i'm cut ..lol..if it made a difference now anyway that is..33 years this way and I get plenty of sensation when having sex,so maybe it;s better this way,I go have sex longer without busting a nut too quickly..lol

Vertigo-1 the ability of the person that the foreskin is attached too. to be able choose is one of the most important issues with circumcision. you can't tattoo a child. im glad that you realized that choice is important. taking a healthy piece of tissue from anyone baby/child/teen or adult without there permission/consent is wrong. the persons circumcised or uncircumcised status wont effect them till near the child's teenage life. so why not let then choose then. and the doctors could then use efficient pain meds.

the chance of a botched circumcision would also decrease if the person waited till later teen or adult years. the reason for this is. by mid teen years the foreskin has separated from the glans on its own. and the doctor would be able to better judge how much to cut.

the only reason that its done to babies is that they can't refuse.

the answer. if you wait he won't want it done. very few people get circumcised as adult less then 01%.

...so parents and doctors should wait. our ability to chose what is done to our own bodies. is one of our most valuable and important freedoms.

I seriously doubt that. It's possible (if that was observed) that the older patients were having an apendectomy under more urgent circumstances.
