    babies don't think.

leaving it til later in life makes it a far more uncomfortable experience.

overall, circumcision is a good thing - cleaner, less odorous, results in less cancer.

has religious significance - it signifies a willingness to move away from animal nature to more refined human/spiritual nature.

friendlier looking as well, I think.

 , ..never heard that one before - less cancer? Do you have a resource to back that up, I'd be curious to have a read.

Anyway, .... my son is intact, his dad is snipped tho. Several factors went in to it, but in the end our decision not to have our son cut was coz we just did not see it as neccessary.

Tbh, tho, even if we did decide to snip, I seriously doubt I could have gone through with it once he was born and so small and all helpless and stuff. It would have just seemed mean to have inflicted pain on him.

Penile cancer. Women who have uncircumsized partners are at greater risk of ovarian cancer. Penile infections are more common in uncircumsized boys. For more info:http://www.circinfo.net/ If you don't like what that site has to say, simply type 'pros and cons of circumcision' into any search engine. You'll get plenty of results.

No, it just means he'll be able to make his OWN choice. Only a third of US infants are being cut these days. Globally 95% of non-Muslim males are intact.

You know what's uncomfortable? Scrotum surgery! Yet about 40% of affluent men choose vasectomy by age 60. But only 2 in 1000 intact men choose to lose the exquisitely pleasure-receptive foreskin.

Waiting until he's older means he probably will thank you for being intact, but if he chooses to be cut, he'll have a say in the style of cut, full control over the pain management during the procedure and recovery, and - if it goes poorly - someone NOT long dead to sue for incompetence.

Cutting in infancy is the worst time to attempt cosmetic genital surgery. Would you try to guess at the best boob job for a baby girl? Fletcher et al in 2010 reported adverse cosmetic and functional outcomes in over a third of cut-at-birth adults sampled.

It's just so easy. Drop the knife, back away from the perfect, healthy, normal baby. Every mammal on earth evolved a foreskin. Why do only male humans require corrective surgery at birth despite 65 million years of natural refinement?

so you would let someone strap you down and tattoo a pattern onto you that you did not choose. or pierce a part of your body. i don't think you would let someone strap you down and alter your body WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION.

when a baby is circumcised. the babies will cannot be determined. and according to basic human rights and US law. if will cannot be determined then cosmetic surgery cannot be preformed. circumcision is classified as a COSMETIC surgery.

parents are empowered to make choices for their children. the healthiest choice is easily arrived at.

thats almost right. parents are empowered to make surgical medical choices for their children only if the child's life is in danger. you cannot have your child's appendix removed unless the child's life is in immanent danger.

parents are NOT empowered to make COSMETIC surgical medical choices for their children.

You'd seem to be wrong on this fact considering parents are in fact allowed to.

no im not wrong about. parents are NOT empowered to make COSMETIC surgical medical choices for their children. this fact is clear in medical ethics

and the intact grater cancer rates was disproven. penial cancer rates are equal circumcised or not. and the cervical cancer (not ovarian cancer) study was proven false. the doctor that did the study admitted it was a lie.
being intact has no proven impact on cancer rates every study that shows an increased risk has been dis proven by a separate study

Not cosmetic, it's a cultural norm that parents believe will lead to a better dick for their child. Deal with it.

"a better dick" i dont think the people that have died or had complications would agree with that

TheMadcapSyd i don't know why im even talking with you about this. you apparently won't change your mind no matter what i say. or the evidence i present.

just being a cultural norm does not excuses. a ritual from scrutiny. foot binding was a cultural norm years ago. and female circumcision is still a cultural norm in some parts of the world including the US.

should we allow female circumcision just because its a cultural norm?
if we allow male circumcision then according to our constitution we must allow female circumcision

cultural normality is not a good enough reason to allow genital mutilation.

to allow surgery that permanently alters the person's sexual function. you need really good proof. that the result will be beneficial. and since you can match circumcisions effects with soap. its not worth the pain and loss of sensation.

lmao either should I. C'mon who are you, either you're another poster here who won't share your views on your actual account, or you're so obsessed with other people's dicks that you made an account on a forum to only post in the thread about circumcision, and reappear whenever it gets bumped by someone. I'm beginning to think you might have an agenda here. You never have a counter argument for all my evidence either in the fact men circumcised in adult life report no less satisfaction in their sexual ability. The only response I ever get to this is "well they must be lying, no one is going to admit to it in an anonymous survey."

Strawman arguments are the last preserve of the person who has no real argument, i.e. the constant comparison of male circumcision to female circumcision. It's like saying having a cold is the same as having hepatitis C. Male circumcision, whether you want to admit it or not has proven medical benefits, and has not been shown to have an adverse affect on the sexual function of the sex organ, in fact fathers have their sons circumcised specifically for the fact they believe it will improve their genitals in appearance and function. Female circumcision has absolutely no purpose but to rob the girl of sexual and orgasmic pleasure to further her value as a wife by further increasing the chances she is a virgin. We've been through this already, find a better argument. Comparing female circumcision to male circumcision is at best a joke, and at worst pretty god damn offensive.

you don't seem to realize that male circumcisions original purpose was to weaken the sexual organ

TheMadcapSyd your the one that has been offensive. saying that everyone should be circumcised with a rusty guitar string is really offensive

the only time comparing female circumcision to male circumcision is a strawman. is when one side (you) dont realize that there are 4 main types of female circumcision. i know it stupid to compare type 2 and type 3 to male circ. but type 1 and type 4 are very similar and both do less damage then male circ. type 1 and type 4 are the most common

and i was not comparing them i was stating a point of constitutional law "congress shall make no law that affects only 1 gender"

and it has been proven that all the benefits that circumcision might bring. can be achieved with soap and water. and what about the 80% of the men in the world that are intact they don't seem to have any problems with there foreskins.

you know what TheMadcapSyd im tired of arguing with you. its people like you that kept us in the dark age for 600+ years. why don't you go and [insert rude idea here]. you want this board then you can have it im done with you. [insert rude degrading commit here]
