couldn't have said it better myself jivre...

another question. why do they colour the butts that weird spotty brown colour? is it supposed to represent the colour of your lungs?? and why do they put those really faint horizontal stripes along the paper? are they trying to make it look pretty?

    Blackie,

If you rode a motorcycle, you would realize that smokers are not the only "trashy" people around. It is surprising how many folks toss stuff out of their car windows without looking to see who it might hit. Smokers just have more opportunities to show their inconsideration.

Im a smoker, I field strip my butts and throw them away. I dont put them out my window and i dont smoke in a crowd or near children, or in any non-smokers space. Its not that hard to avoid sharing your dirty habbits with the world. Oh, and from what I understand, the stripes on the paper of a cigarette is saltpeter, an ingredient of gunpowder, its put there to "help the cig burn evenly". I roll my own from rice papers, no stripes. ;)

Blackie, you forgot about the common trait between Oregon and New Jersey, they are the two states that require an attendant to pump your gas....I know because the first time I was in Oregon I went to 4 different places wondering where the self serve was!
i think butts can be pretty, especially ones with a little lipstick on the tip...that is HOT!

Well if you're gonna call me a dickhead, then I'm gonna tell you to shut the fuck up and either pick them up and throw them out, or ignore it.

Not all of us are like that. I use ashtrays and smokers stations and throw the butts away.

I think we can all agree that there are bigger problems in the world.

"Bigger problems"?? Well yes, but a small thing like trash awareness can lead to bigger things. Lady Bird Johnson (the president's wife) had an anti-litter campaign "Keep America Beautiful" that was one of the sources of the modern environmental movement.

I said cigarette aren't the biggest problem. Why not start by cutting down on fossil fuels, mining, deforestation, industrial pollution, massive landfills, product packaging, the loss of the rainforests, the draining of the aquifers etc before worrying about little cigarette butts pussies.

I'm not trying to be an asshole here, but why is everyone so nit-picky...start some where big, or expand the topic to include ALL LITTER!

A bitty thing like a cigarette butt may not seem like a big problem individually but I heard that little sucker takes 9 whole years to decompose completely:eek: If thats true, then put it where it belongs to linger with the rest of the trash.

Nuclear waste can take 1 million years to decompose, plastic bags...god knows how long those take, styrofoam....I bet that never dissappears.......

All I'm saying is that the dirty cities of the world kick ass, while the clean ones kind of suck really

Is there such a thing as a clean city? I'm yet to see one, and i've travelled the world over several times. Smokers live in every city of the world, as do people who disrespect the environment.

So do you go around picking up nuclear waste off the street? We all gotta do our bit man.
