It didn't rain last night yay. But it is suppose to rain again this afternoon. In 4 months we have had 6 days with no rain and that isn't consecutive Still can't get to the gardens..

After all is said and done, we are family. We love hard, we play hard and we argue hard. We're Hippies From The 60s.. We've seen it, we've done it and we most likely invented it.

We are freedom loving people and we fight for our beliefs and customs.. We are from every walk of life and every country.

hi hippies.. my son was partying hard at the w/e as he turned 40 in april.. also he got married in america last year - they didn't tell anyone until they got home & it was a fait accompli.. so he decided to combine his stag party & 40th & went away with the boys for the w/e.. they're all fathers now & their lives revolve round the children's lives.. also they can't party like they did in their 20s, but they like to revisit those weekends of 'no restraint'.. normally his dad is invited along but he's in his mid sixties & thinks he's 16 when he's partying so they decided not to put temptation his way.. it was our wedding anniversary yesterday, we divorced 10 yrs later, but we're still a family.. he goes on holiday with my brother & sister (all hippies, of course), my neice is living in his house in dublin while she's doing her ph D, so did my nephew a few yrs ago.. divorce doesn't have to change things for the family but we still slug it out like we always did (the kids get annoyed & say 'you two are like children'), but we'd still be married if all was harmony & light.. :argue: Love & peace to all of you.. :daisy:

I hope that you are not all flooded out at your place. In the national news there's lots of flooding going on in Texas. I hope that your garden is on high ground. Let us know what's up. OK?

Speaking of Texas, there is a big "made for TV" mini series going on each night right now, a drama, about Texas and the Alamo. It's on the History Channel. They're showing 4 or 5 of the episodes tonight. Tuesday.
I'll be watching.

I heard a factoid on TV the other day that I never knew. It was stated that Sam Houston, then the president of the newly claimed republic, had ordered them to go down to the Alamo and to gather and to bring back all of the cannon, power, cannon balls, and everything else, and to bring it all back to make a defense. It said that Travis and Jim Bowie once they got there, decided to say there and to make the fight at the Alamo. Which was not at all any kind of a fort. It was said that basically they were under direct orders to do that mission, and that they violated their direct orders from their president. I never had any idea of that. That is so out of control, weird. And yet history is full of weird stuff. So, knowing how history is, I guess that nothing should surprise me. Right??? LOL

What was it? 6,000 against 200? But it sure took quite a while.

You must forgive me. Because I've been watching two days worth of Memorial Weekend World War II movies, almost non stop. All of the old 40s and 50s Hollywood classics. I'm lost in another zone. I guess. I don't know how many times that I've seen them liberate Belgium, now. At lease 8 times. LOL

Anyhow, It's time for me to get back to the real world now. I have to do things like go outside and put the 2015 year sticker on the license plate on my van. All of that real world tough work. Write a check for a bill. That kind of stuff. Mail it out at a mail box. Figure out what I am going to do for money and work in the future. Real world.

I put this year's license plate sticker on the van's license plate, yesterday. The new registration paper is in the glove box. Done deal. Woo, that was a lot of work.
Just kidding. I did a bunch of other stuff yesterday, too. Like go and get a chest x-ray.

Marykins, is the garden still there? I do hope and pray so.

"OH SAY CAN YOU SEE, IS THE GARDEN STILL THERE." A takeoff on the national anthem. LOL
But I do hope that everything is cool.

Talked with Ranger by phone the other day. All OK.

Talked with my son yesterday and they are actually OK. Talked with his Lady too. She is actually surprisingly together. It was her birthday yesterday too. They were going to go to the coast to spread some ashes there. Very sad.

 

hi hippies.. I'm glad your son & his lady are holding up Kenny.. it's a very tough one.. I've heard about the weather in Texas was wondering how Mary's garden faired.. It's sounds like it's been a year like no other so far..

 

We're on 'high' ground, no rivers or big streams close by, a few lakes, but the have spillways.. now the gardens on the other hand, well we've had to plant twice already. I do not see a nice huge garden this year bc we did not plant rice. We have a few things up, but it's been no sun for weeks and they are puny and weak..

decided to go back to school.. Dentistry was my dream! Got all the way through
school, got my degree, so then I was Fred Dingaling, MD, DDS. Got bored
doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she
gave me VD, so now I was Fred Dingaling, MD, DDS, with VD. Well, the ADA
found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS. Then I was Fred Dingaling,
MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because
of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Dingaling with VD.
Then the VD took away my Dingaling, so now I am Just Fred.'
The officer walked away in tears, laughing.

 

Hi Mara, Surprisingly life goes on. I'm fine and happy. The weather here in the desert has yet to get out of the low 90s and high 80s. Weird for here. Too nice for far too long. However it says the the forecast is for breaking 100 on Saturday and thereafter.

Personally, I hope that Mary is still Okay. Anything could have happened. I wonder.

Good Morning Folks,

Well the rain has quit for the time being, it's been two glorious days of mostly sunshine. The water is drying up and the mud is turning back into soil. Altho' we have lost our gardens, we'll try again for the third time.

The water has driven all the insects into what little did survive and worms have taken over the Orchard. We will carry on, as long as we have each other.

Kennykins, We have seed, sweetiepie. What we need is our Spring back without the flood.. We've missed the season. It will become too hot for most of the plants to produce and the plants that do produce will not be right. There will be some things we can replant, but for the corn, melons, broccoli, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and okra.. time time ceiling has run out The weeds have taken over the tomato and pepper patch bc we could not get out there to weed it.. the mud would refuse to release our feet if we dared to trespass..lol..

Life has it's ups and downs and ya just gotta let it be, just keep on keepin on and make the best out of what you have.
