LOL I never thought of that as a 13th sign in the Zodiac. I totally do Astronomy. Constellations, light years to brighter stars. The Science. I know of Ophiuchus above (to the north of) Scorpius and Sagittarius and with Hercules just above it on the way to the North Star in the little dipper or little Bear.

Some of the stuff I knew. Most of it NOT.

Did you know that the center of our galaxy the Milky Way is the part that we see right between Scorpius and Sagittarius. If your sky is dark enough to be able to see the Milky Way you can look at the center of our galaxy where is goes between the two. Summer sky.

Ophiuchus and Hercules are opposite Orion. Half way round. 6 months. Winter sky and the summer sky. Cause like, Orion is right between Taurus and Gemini, Ophiuchus is right between Scorpius and Sagittarius. Taurus and Scorpius ate opposites. Gemini and Sagittarius are opposites.

    Kind of cool about:

    - interpreter of dreams, vivid premonitions,

    - attracts good luck and fruitful blessings,

    - serpent holder, lofty ideals, – a seeker of peace and harmony,
    and more.

    Good Morning, Cakes!

I just had to SHARE :D

    Marriage is sharing.....
The old man placed an order for one hamburger, French fries and a drink.
He unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half, placing one half in front of his wife.

He then carefully counted out the French fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife.
He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them.... As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them were looking over and whispering.
Obviously they were thinking, 'That poor old couple - all they can afford is one meal for the two of them.'
As the man began to eat his fries a young man came to the table and politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man said, they were just fine - they were used to sharing everything
People closer to the table noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink.
Again, the young man came over and begged them to let him buy another meal for them.
This time the old woman said 'No, thank you, we are used to sharing everything..'
Finally, as the old man finished and was wiping his face neatly with the napkin, the young man again came over to the little old lady who had yet to eat a single bite of food and asked 'What is it you are waiting for?'
    She answered:
    'THE TEETH.'

    Hi Kenny,

Yes, lots of sauce, spag sauce, BBQ sauce, salsa sauce, tomato juice sauce, :D I was gonna give a hand at ketchup but the process calls for a tonage of tomatoes and rendering down take all day.. I need my burners open for my caners. We had 3 caners going lat year. Man ole man that kitchen was rockin'.

If you have never canned let me explain:

The pressure gauge thingy that sits on top of the lid to the caner called, the dopler, gets ta dopling, from the steam shooting up through it, it starts ta rockin' back n forth whistling dixie. It can get quiet a rhythm going and the kitchen hops.. If it rocks too hard ya gotta bring it down to a gentle rocking chair rock so it doesn't pull the liquid out of the jars..

    Yum! Salsa.

I've used a pressure cooker before, lots. But it was for sterilizing things and making Sterile food for growing things. Not for people food. So, yes, I do know how pressure cookers work. We use to babysit 'em. Rockin' and all.

It seems that back in the 50s and the 40s everybody made their own ketchup. Can yer ol' man find one of those big propane burners that folks use with those hug pots in order to deep fry a turkey with. That way you could go and cook outside. Maybe even make cooking ketchup a GUY kind of job. Outdoor cooking. Just a though. Maybe check Craigslist.org. That's .org and not .com. maybe find a giant burner with a giant pot. Who knows.

I'm just wishing that you keep on having FUN.

Oh, it takes too many tomatoes to make ketchup. I get ya.

So, could ya talk yer man into the idea that if guys barbecue outside and that's a guy thing, then guys can take the burners outside and watch the big pots, too?

I do most of the chef dinner stuff indoors here, and all that Mary Jo has to do is to tell me how fabulous the meal tastes. I wash the pots and pans too. And clean the kitchen and the dishes. She's got the world's best wife, I keep telling her. But that's the way that my mom raised me. "If you like to eat, then you had better learn to cook and to clean up," she'd say.

Copied and Pasted from the Happy Hippie House Party thread:

To me this is all so funny because to me this is the kind of thing that we should be talking about in The Church of the Good Earth thread but we're talking about it here, and in that thread we're talking about seedlings for planting a food garden. LOL

Anyhow I obviously believe that our existence goes on, but I really don't think it's like the cliché concepts of heaven that most people have. I think that it would be much more cosmic and nebulous. Energy and Love. Not brick and mortar.

    Pieceofmyheart, Great picture. Thanks.
Heaven and hell. I think more in terms of Beauty and Viciousness. You pick the one.
When they say, "on Earth as it is in Heaven." I view that as our task, here and now. To make on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Speaking of weeds. I want to develop a special breed of goat that only eats weeds and leaves the fruit and vegetables alone. What do ya think of that idea?

A little less work of Lynn. Maybe. Also.

I'm trying to figure out why I hear that Ranger is always online on the Internet every day, all day from sun up to late at night and he can never bother to type anything and to support us at all. What are we suppose to think of him? I mean I love him. But what is that all about? Huh?

Mary, I hear that there is a frost coming on toward you and toward Dallas. Out here they drape burlap sacks over the existing flower beds to keep the dew off of them that will turn to (ice) frost. Does that make any sense to you? I'm just trying to help save the day, here for you. Burlap, or Towels, blankets, whatever.

    Lots of Love.

thanks for the concern Kenny. We only have 'cold' plants out right now.. may not be good on the tater slips but all else can handle it. All the seedlings are in the greenhouse under heat lamps.. we have the brightest yard on the prairie. lol

We are ICED in, the ice came yesterday morning, then the snow by mid morning.. all is white and Dallas,Ft Worth, Arlington and areas are CLOSED.. The interstates are shut down.. nothing is moving.I have never heard of such a thing in my life..

If trucks can not get to the grocery stores, it's going to be a disaster in NE Texas and well, for hundreds of thousands of folks there will be no food on their tables.. I pray for us all bc our great leaders and half the country hate Texas for some UNGODLY reason. and we will get no aid, as we did not get any aid when Texas was on fire a few years ago. But ya know, we managed without the haters bc this is GOD's country.

We're set here for at least 3 months.. I imagine the ice and snow will be long gone by then.

    Love, Love, Love

Well, I'm glad that you are OK and the seedlings are OK. I'd hate to think of all of that work going to waste.

I'm sure that they'll have the highways cleared in a day or two after the snow stops falling. The interstates are always cleared no matter what state you are in because they have laws about that because the interstates were first designed for rapid military movements in the event of any attack on out country. So, there are automatic Fed funds for clearing the interstates everywhere. I shouldn't worry about that if I were you. That's been the law since Eisenhower. Nobody can change that.

It is true that your state may have less snow plows then other states, but that's a state by state choice to purchase those. I was talking with a woman last week who was complaining that her state, Tennessee, didn't both to purchase any road salt at all for this year. Gee, Tea Party! Remember about States Rights verses Fed's Rights? All them folks who bitch that the Fed has too much control and that the states should have more power? For more snow plows I'm sure that the Fed can get them from Arkansas where they have mountains and have snow more often. Or the Army. The interstates will be cleared.

Most folk have three days worth of something in their cupboards. They usually get even the smaller streets cleared by day three. I'm sure that folks should be OK?

    Keep the plants warm.

We were supposed to get rain here yesterday but nothing happened. They are saying maybe today, but still nothing.

They predict 11 plus inches of snow in Flagstaff today. In one day. I'm trying to talk her into taking a two hours drive to drive to the snow when the roads are cleared. Interstates 17 and 40. It could happen. Maybe see Rita and Ranger along the way. If we choose to take the drive.

    Love, Love, Love.

P.S. Why would anyone hate Texas?

For ice they use salt. Makes ice start melting at a much lower temperature. Something like 24 degrees depending on how much salt you put on it. That's just like in cooking when you add salt into water, and it forces it to come to a boil at an even higher temperature than normal.

Yeah, I don't imagine that Texas has too many salt spreading machines that attach to dump trucks full of road salt. In a pinch they use four guys with shovels to spread salt. I've seen TV footage of that happening before.

If they don't have a stock of salt, my retired step dad was a manager at the mine just south of Amboy, Ca. and it's right on the main rail line going to El Paso and Houston, with their own railway sidings for loading bin cars. They ship out everyday, several times a day. Probably takes less that 24 hours traveling day and night to get into Houston and hook up to a north bound train.

Trust me, the roads will open. There's billions of dollars of goods being shipped by truck everyday. Nobody is wanting to lose any money. And that's why trucks pay road tax, anyway. For resurfacing highways and for keeping them open. Stay tuned to the TV news and watch. It may surprise you how fast. LOL

(Kenny--maybe Ranger forgets to log out is why he seems to always be on. I used to do that myself. Now I log out) Carry on. And I hope you folks are OK down there. It's been sunny and nice here, but it seems almost everywhere else , it's a struggle.
