hi Kenny.. the little grandchildren have gone back to london.. my daughter worked in india for 4 yrs, & met her future partner at a hindu wedding (he's london indian), so my little tiny treasures have a devout hindu grandmother & an irish hippy grandmother.. who could ask for more? I live in Liverpool in the north/west, a long journey from London.. my older son came here to univercity, & fell in love with the friendly funny 'scoucers', & we all followed him, as he chose to make his home here.. his 2 sons are pure liverpool, as their mother comes from generations of liverpudlians.. my youngest son will be coming home about oct 5th to do the kitchen job.. that's when I'll start cracking up as life in the house gets turned on its head.. love to all you in our cosy family [IMG]

I just love it. Now there's a term you don't hear everyday. 'Scoucers' At least not over in the United States. WOW. I had to look that one up. LOL

Then again as I think and write I feel within free association (mind word flow) the word 'United'. Like, what do the United Kingdom and the United States have in common. The word 'united'. Beyond that I can only think up the United Arab Republic as a nation using 'United'.

So, then you are to the northwest of London. Liverpool has to be completely unique on the face of the Earth.

"It was a nice thing you did there Kenny"

That's exactly why my heart told me to do it. LOL For Real. That's why.
For you and her to share the power of an idea. There goes my successful friends. Remember:
It's not the destination, it's the journey. And you two are On the Road.

A tongue in cheek reference to On the Road [Jack Kerouac] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying
offers. In its time Jack Kerouac's masterpiece was the bible of the Beat
    Generation,

Anyway, May you two go out there and have some fun together. The pickles are simply a vehicle for the two of you to come together and to go and have an adventure together. (some fun together) That's the general idea.

The dreams of making it big? That could happen. People do it all of the time in this world. So, why not her and you?
You've got the guts and the love. She's got the thrill and the wide-eyed enthusiasm. That means that you guys are most of the way there already!!!!! So, why not you guys?

The odds of winning are at least one hundred million times better than winning the grand prize in the lottery.
    So,
    Good luck.
Bonne Chance. as they say in New Orleans.

Good Morning my Friends and Family,

The night is still and dark, nothing moving outside, not even a distant dog barking at the moon.. No Crickets chirping, not birds rustling, the rooster is not even up for the boastful crowing he so languidly produces in the hotter months.

Yes, the fever of the south is lowering it's digits and the cool predawn has all the creatures nestled in their beds just a little longer these days. Altho, it is still in the 90s, it's not as hot and there seems to be a slight difference in the air itself.

Hubilicious is still on the mend. He doesn't heal as fast as he use to. I wish there were more I could do for him. He sits and moans day in and day out, holding his head. It makes me want to die inside bc he is suffering so. I do not believe the doctors know what the hell they are doing most of the time. They have become harden over time treating the suffering masses.

ACA has ruined our health care. Medicare is a farce and you still end up paying more than ever for co=pay.. who decided that the elders had to co pay for medicare..like they have so much cash to spare with the rising cost of food, fuel and necessities to run a household. If they was any left over funds, it goes straight to the pharmacies for their high priced cures that make you worse off than you were with out them.

I do try to push the negative out of my mind and not dwell on things which I can not change. I try not to complain or be hateful and most of the time I can pull it off. But in these times where it's relentless and the odds get huger and huger against the night and the light at the end of the tunnel is a train coming at you, you blink back the tears that sting the eyes and you take deep breaths to keep your heart from breaking.

In my strength I find my weakness. In my weakness, I find my strength.

We are the light in each other's eyes, We share one heart, one love as deep as the river flows, we are stroke for stroke making our way across the galaxy of time and presence. We stand fearless, side by side as equals against the north wind that blows it's frozen breath upon us. We push forth in shining glory as our burning love cuts through the thick forest of uncertainty clearing a path of green grass and blue sky in our wake.

    Together we are one

I'm hoping to try to help you out.

First off, Let me say that I have just now spent the last 5 hours solid researching on-line looking to find out if Medicare had ever been free in the past at any time since L.B.J. started it back in 1965. In 5 hours time, I can find nothing on the entire internet about free or total coverage Medicare, ever having been. I'm surprised on that one. They make it sound as though there have always been premiums or deductibles involved ever since the very beginning. Dec. 1965.

So, in trying to help out.

I knew this guy, once. He told me…
Of course he probably lived in a different state then you guys do. Anyhow he was below the national poverty line by a bunch. Made way less then 13,000 per year or whatever it is.
In fact I think that he told me that he make less than 730 per month which is the state qualifier. Multiplied by 12 months = $8760 per year. Less than that. Anyhow he told me that he qualified and had State Medicaid and for his low income bracket he received full 100% coverage with no premiums and no fees.

Of course that amount should be a lot more for a married couple. Right? You guys being married.

    Now here's the real deal.
He tells me that when he applied in person for his Social Security early retirement, at the S. S. office in person they mentioned that when he turned 65 that he would automatically receive Medicare and a Medicare card and that there would be a premium to pay.

So, then he asked the worker, so, then if that is the case and I can't afford it, then can I stay off of Medicare and just stay on the full coverage state plan? The S. S. worker told him that if at that time (65) he was still on the low income state Medicaid that he would have to automatically go over to Medicare, but that the state Medicaid program should stay in effect and should be paying that premium for him and his other costs. And that he should still be paying zero. And nothing out of his Social Security check.

Anyhow, this seems to be what the Social Security worker told him about how it all works.

So, my thought is, how would it work in your state. Can you and he qualify as way below the poverty line? I would think that you can, and still own a home. Because, people have to pay rent somewhere. Correct?

Just trying to help out. I would think that you two don't make a lot of money and would qualify for low income state Med.

By the way did ya ever look on-line into the state $200 per month for children that comes with food stamps (what a cheap state) and possibly Full state Med for the kids?
We found it on-line. It does exist.

Just trying to help ya out. It might be worth looking into.

    Love

they take the premium out of his disability check for medicare. I was talking about the co-pay not the premium. There was not a co-pay when he first started getting it in 87' when he broke his back.

We are not under the poverty level. He was one of the highest wage paid in that job area at that time. We get 'paid' on the 3rd. and by the end of the month we are broke like everyone else. We get by but there's no extras right now. But I know where you're coming from.

    love to all

A lot of states do supply a form of medicaid that pays everything medicare doesn't, including the medicare part B... so no premium, no copay. If you qualify. Part of that "qualify" includes assets. You can own your home and one car... Two cars and you won't qualify, even if it's a junker with no engine. You can't own any additional properties including burial plots. They check your bank account constantly, if it goes over a certain amount at any time they drop you. No investments or life insurance policies, etc.

It's very invasive but it can help...

we have too much to qualify for any aid from social serviceswe own everything we have and we have a bunch of stuff. we have 4 trucks, one van and my trailblazer, we own as of nov 1st our little rent house. and we usually make it just fine.

I put us in the hole by helping my grand daughter and my two great grand children. Her boyfriend left her high and dry with two babies in diapers, no food all the bills due took the car and left her stranded in the woods.

She has her little trailer house she owns it, so that is something. But you have to feed the babies, you have to have electric to keep from frying in the texas heat or freezing to death in the winter..

I was trying to run two households on my little ss check.. I put me n hubs inna hole using up all our reserve. She'll be ok now. I been taking her around to get food stamps, WIC, and some help on her electric until the attrny general gets her some child support. I had to raise some thunder to get it all done, but done it is and thank Creator for that.

We will be ok money wise, check to check living like everyone else, not complaining, I'm just worried about my Darlin', he's all but stopped eating.. he says everything tastes nasty. I know it's the meds but he has got to eat, he's losing weight.

Well, anyway, I get my check today and I can get the 'herbs' that he needs to gain his strength back and clean out his blood.

    Thanks for the LOVE

For all intent and purposes, The Church Of The Good Earth has moved from it's previous physical address leaving no forwarding physical address. The lease was not picked up by the landlord. The property that was leased, is in no way part of any organisation and is a private residence and is under no legal obligations to the State Of Texas for any collections or debts acquired by TCOTGE, if any.

Hi Maura, Life is like a roller coaster, always having it's ups and down, and even twists and turns that shakes your very foundation. Sometimes you have to make decisions for self preservation that are not always pleasant. We have to do what we have to do. Lynn is well, so all is well with me and that is what matters, the real thing.

I was just thinking of a different type of London Indian. LOL With the Top Hat it made me think of London, way back when. American Indian in a top hat. That is the Family Dog logo from 60's rock 'n' roll fame. the Family Dog ran a concert hall, like Bill Graham did. The Indian guys is somebody famous I believe. I forget who.

good morning to you Kenny.. we have a cultural divide happening, & there's stuff I've never heard of til I learned to use the computer.. I believe native americans made their way to uk, & were involved in whatever showbiz life was happening.. at that time my ancestors were living on farms in ireland, & didn't know of a world beyond a radius of 10 miles or so..
how are keeping? are you in good health?
joy oh joy.. I just got a text from my son to say he's arrived in uk, & will be home in a few hours.. there's nothing more heartwarming for mothers.. love n hugs to all :daisy:

Hi guys! I shouldn't really post here as I'm not an original Good Earther but it is just so cool to read you real old hippies still in touch! My Mum and Dad were real English hippies here in London and met at a party in Chelsea in the late 60's,for which I have to thank for my blessed life.I have been a one time punk-head,baby both and constantly suffer identity crises like "Am I a hippy?..."Should I keep my hair long?" e.t.c.Anyways the reason I am so fascinated with the Haight-Ashbury is because one of my all time favorite writers Richard Brautigan spent some time there. His novel "Troutfishing in America" went on to sell over a million copies and he was described as the "Last of the Beats".Strangely it is said that he never identified with the hippie movement, but he certainly had the look...Anyways,peace and love to all,and try and keep the faith for me Kenny.

Incidentally,I sometimes wonder about differences between U.K and U.S.A hippies?...Ciao for now!

    Faerylights, my friend.

You are always welcome here. We are all part of the Good Earth. All of us.

It is my understanding that the name of the church group which also became that name of a long defunct commune group (see: monastery and Convent), had obviously originally come from the Pearl S. Buck novel The Good Earth (also a movie), and that the original concept, which was almost tongue in cheek, is that if there is a God in Heaven then the entire Earth is a Church.
Hence, everybody on the Earth is a Member of the Church of the Good Earth.

So, you were born a member. Right?

One of the founders expressed to me that These guys rented a house and just wanted to try to get some of the young people away from having to sleep on the street, so they created an on going space in their house for these San Francisco new arrivals to roll out their sleeping bags in a big room in their place. This was a part of their beginnings. Of course this grew. Lots of people. The people were of all faiths. Just like the long established Bahia Church (see: Bahia Vista Church - Home), an all faiths church. In other words this group is built on always having new people come in and be a part. Food and shelter. And for the soul as well.

    Are you on the Earth?
    Presto! You are a member.

[IMG] hi guys.. the work is under way in my house & the air is blue!! No, not really, but the stress levels rise when every single thing I use all day is under piles of other stuff.. you know the drill.. It's nice having my brother & my son staying, & they know what they're doing, though I don't! All seems quiet in the church, & I hope it means all's good.. hugs & all de best..
