I would tend to vote that whomever decides to just run away and to abandon us in our time of need and just run off and hide their heads in the sand and just pretend that this mistaken tax bill will just go away all by its self if we do nothing, then we give them the entire 1,200 tax bill plus interest, to pay all by their selves. Like the state can simply attach their Fed income each month.

If your going to bail on us and try to leave us hanging with the whole bill then we just send them to YOU to collect it all.

Why should I have to be the last guy who is trying to do the right thing and straighten this all out, and then I get hung with the entire bill, to pay by myself?


That's not very fair.

The tax people want us to be preforming some type of religious service of worship at a regular time and day, kinda like saying 10 o'clock every Sunday or something, in order to qualify as a tax exempt church. Their law. Not mine. Worship services.


I want to ask that Ranger lead us through some sort of gathered service of worship, of any style of his choosing. Shamen. Baptist. Hippie. Whatever he likes. Since he is a licensed certified Universal Life Church Minister.

Church worship, his way. Once he starts we can all show up and join in with him.
The tax people are not going to want to read through 317 pages looking for "worship". And we don't want for them to have to work that hard. Correct?
They may not understand some of those as forms of worship anyhow. We would need to show them and to interpret (explain) for them.

So, to be a church, they say that we need to show worship. Which of you two licensed certified ministers wants to go first?

I believe that as an aspect of our constitutional freedom of religion we are not required to either proselytize publicly or hold public worship services any more than the Pueblo Nation is required to welcome tourists to their ceremonies. Requiring we hold services at a published time and place requires that we violate our freedoms by opening ourselves to non-believers. My other question I can not understand how can they tax income that doesn't exist.

 

They are NOT taxing on income that doesn't exist.
They are charging us a monthly corporation FEE just for being a normal Profit making corporation.

We have already been billed for a franchise fee of about $100 per month for the year, because the comptroller's office in the State of Texas has never received a copy of their form requesting religious non profit status.
We didn't know about that. Or the form.

We've been billed.

As a For Profit.

The ONLY way out of paying this bill is to jump through their hoop and comply with there rules and to fill out their form.

Pay Texas or Send a form. Which would you choose?

 

WE have a bill that we MUST PAY.

or you can argue Constitution HERE in this thread to no avail till dooms day. The bill is still valid and still DUE unless we comply and fill out a 1 page form.

I am right now praying to God that we send a form and qualify and be given the nonprofit status. Please pray along with me.

I talked on the phone with the Comptroller's office. If we want it to go away we DO THIS.

Also.

The very worse thing that we could possibly do is to send in a form to them to Close the Corporation without being recognized as a NON PROFIT first.

We would be ending the corporation while being recognized as a FOR PROFIT. And this would only validate the $1,200 bill for FOR PROFITs.

We need the nonprofit status. We don't sell anything. We are a church. We seek no profit. We do pray. We just got done holding a requiem for Tony. We simply need to seem a bit more like a religion according to the laws of that state.

The Eyes of Texas are upon you. And so is the NSA. LOL

 

Also, If we hide out heads in the sand and we don't deal with this then come December 31 we will owe them another $1,200 for a total of $2,400 as a new bill.
That's only 3 months away!

Franchise tax is a bill for being a corporation. A generic fee.

good morning Kenny, & thank you for the welcome.. I'm a bit confused by the new HF format, & it will take me a bit of time to navigate my way round, & I have to read over about a year of the posts in the church.. hugs..

LOL. Nobody says that you have ta read all of the church posts. Really.

I believe that there is a button or a section on the front page of the website where Skip explains any new differences is this new version of this entire website. Much of is is just the same as how the old website software. I think so, anyhow.

We use to have a buddy or friends list in the column but I can find that any more. Sad Face.

Status Report.

I talked with Ranger on the phone. He then talked with Mary. Then he called me back and we talked.

It seems that everything is now moving forward with the church now. All should be smooth sailing now.

As of Saturday I have no package in the mail as of yet. That's a GO when I receive it.

Mary Jo did find aid for mothers with children or Children, and their parent in your state. Yes it does exist. There is a 5 year lifetime limit. (Nixon Law)

It's not called AFDC any longer.

GENERAL NOTICE

We should be having a quarterly general church membership meeting after October the first. Also as per the revised bylaws we will be combining this general church membership meeting with our quarterly church board of director's meeting, all at the same time.

If you've never been to a meeting please come. All are welcome.

I am tentatively setting this meeting start date for Saturday October the 4th. We will re-announce the time. Meetings start at whatever time the gavel bangs and commences.

Our meetings usually transpire over a course of three or more days as we all tend to show up at whatever time we please and we all have different work times and sleep times and live in different times zones around the world. Meeting are casual. Please drop in and tell us that you are there. OK?


Anyone who lives on the Good Earth can be a member of the Church of the Good Earth.
By definition in our bylaws Active Members may vote and make motions in general membership meetings. An Active Member by definition is a person who has participated in this Church thread (typed here) in the past 3 months and also lives on the Earth. This is known as active membership or any person who is involved in our main rural church house in Quitman and comes here to meetings.
