Capricorn Linda was the Lady that died from nitrous. She was a good lady and it was a shame the way she went. It could of been avoided if someone was watching her back. She strangled on her own vomit.

I'm wondering if you remember me. I'm Nailcakes. If you stayed at underhouse you had to have known me bc that was my house, along with, Shills, Jimmy, Whitney, Count. and me n my boy Jomie, a little blonde guy w/big blue eye, that wore a smile all the time. He was about one when we moved in, in 71'.

Steven may have already been at Ash Valley by 72/73. I moved to Days Creek about 73' I lived in the school marm's old house, by the store.

Well so Jimmy Rockfeller is still MIA then. Little Jimmy Glad you are off the shit. I thought the PAGE street house was the one fire bombed but I know all the houses you mention but I did not live in them as I only CRASHED in different assorted GE/MF/STP/AH/WP/ houses on my many travels in and out of "the City"

You sure seem to have known a lot of the same folks. Sorry I do not place you but others here were WAY MORE the every day folks from AV and SF. Maybe one of the GE everydayers and the AV folks from Early 70s will remember you. I hope you reconnect with whom you seek!

I also know and remember all the houses and places you mention on the S umpqua in Orygun.

Take care and again glad you are free and off the dhit. Cool Runnings Brother.

OH YEAH I can obviously can post again!

It was the Page Street House that was boomed. Mama Kat was living there at the time and she came running over to my place on upper cole cring her heart out bc she lost all her and the girls things in the fire.. we walked back over and the pigs wouldnt let the firemen put out the fire. Cat was beside herself. I was there and saw.

Yes, the page street was an overt raid (of a white panther house ?) by uniformed pd and fire dept. The white house on cole and oak had a molotov cocktail thrown through the window by what was described as 2 straight guys in a plymouth sattelite (the narc car of the day) a couple of years earlier. around the same time as the raid on the oak st house when the police claimed a person walked out and put a kilo brick in their right front pants pocket. I remember mama cat a bit, I do remember the page st house when it was still GE (or a page st house) as well as a house across the panhandlle somewhere. seagulls fish and chips, psalms cafe, haght st blues sandwich shop (my first job) and all the shops on haight are pretty fresh in my memory. I spent a lot of time hitching from SF to Oregon with doc and someone else I cant recall, I spent a summer in marin in a driftwood shack on slide ranch (below muir point overlook) with a woman I cant remember well. I was trying to not be arrested for runaway so was helped to stay low profile there and in Oregon on the ranch. There was a lady next to the cole st (compound) house, second floor (maybe cathy) who took me in and her daughter (sylvia?) and I hung out together a lot. you could climb from her apt through the window into rotten rons room in the cole st house. I would like to hear from them, they were real good to me as well as the mulqueens (from the bronx)

I hoofed it door to door in san rafeal for a month or two trying to get someone elected mayor and worked a food co-op, I think that was WPP after the decline of GE, when most of the houses were closed and definately after the burning of the page st house. I have no real recollection of people associated those events.

I guess I should have read all the posts before replying, I remember shills name not a face. that was real early when I first arrived and I was probablt 125 lbs, buzzcut and cowboy boots. I did some shopping at the free store and ended up in patched up scodes and some leather jeans for a while but still had pretty short hair in 72, early 73 I spent short times in each of those houses on lower cole and then ended up at the upper cole house in a bunk bed till my first roust for runaway. Capricorn linda pretty with wavy brown hair and always smiling. There was also a big girl there alot (suzy?) and lots of bikers out in the back in a garage (and mutherfucker chuck) I think thats where I met rotten Ron. I remember someone falling from the upstairs big door too. I remember a paper/newsletter being printed in the hole in the wall maybe. I worked in the leather shop downstairs with linda and the other lady a fair amount. They showed me how to patch my scodes and leather pants as well as how to make lots of other stuff. Was there a Big Ron as well as a Leo Ron? Seems so to me. When I was in oregon I had long hair by then. I was there for the dog round up when we had to put down all the dogs that had been left behind and they started to run wild chasing the cattle. I was there for the bear hunt when the bull broke the cows back and the bear was coming down to investigate while we had it on the hoist. WHen whitey parked the truck in the tree on river road after the tequila drinking contest (1st annual?), when the cops cleaned out the greenhouse, when the porcupine assaulted the garden and we had to sllep in the garden and fend them off. I may remember you from tiller, I do remember a house there in the wood above tiller where a lady lived. I walked form there to the ranch a couple of times. I rode from the ranch to a house down there one night and passed out in the bed of the truck, some snow fell and then melted then refroze, freezing my clothes to the bed of the truck. Some Wah came and pried me loose. I sat and played spoons and juice harp several times at jams there. I was 5'9" by then, about 150lbs with long brown hair and hazel eyes. no facial hair. I ran around with a stevens 20 guage single barrel shotgun a lot (we were meat poor on the ranch) I played baseball in the cowpastures at the ranch and swam at the falls and spent a considerable amount of time in the gasmask. I was there when someone dove into the underwater ledge at the falls and split his head open. I went across the river and hiked miles into the woods to visit a family that lived out there, all natural, Tan Dan if Im not mistaken. I hunted the old appleorchard near days creek and the old homestead on top of the hill in the fall when the apples would drop and the deer would feed in there. met a lot of Hoe Dads too. Ron lived by the creek (on the ranch) with his wife, mouseman in the roundhouse, whitey in the second main house, spacey stacey in the main house (and maybe doc) I dont remember too many others yet but more is coming back as I read these posts and talk about it. I remember lots of comfrey and ran the roto tiller for days. Used the johnsered falling saw to cut slabs, the one with a long ass bar and a stinger on the end. more will be revealed im sure. Thanks for the replies its jogging my old ass brain.

    Hi there Jimmy!
yes I remember you well. It's so good that you found this place. Some of the stories that you have been recalling have really stirred up some memories. It was an interesting time for a young person to land at such a scene. Sounds like you took the ride up and down: I'm really glad that you came full circle and got clean. There was a lot to learn; some of us were a bit luckier with the "classes" we chose to "study". So you have kids huh? What kind, how many, where are you living nowadays ? The Big Story isn't over;we are still here and the faith is strong: ARMED LOVE! That was the statement and also the name of the scarecrow that Shills & I put together in the garden. It was wearing an officers coat from the Canadian Navy, headlong red hair (combed out bailing twine), a corncob pipe, holding a gods eye high in the air in one hand a rusty old Winchester in the other. Whenwe were done putting hin together, Shills & I wished for a joint to christen him but there was no smoke in the Valley at the time. Well Shills reaches into the pocket of our magic scarecrow and Voila! The magic lives: a joint of killer appears!! And we celebrate the creation of the guardian of the garden. I always wondered if Shills had planted that joint there or not,he vehemently denied it. But it remains as a very special time spent with Brother Shills.
My best to you Brother Shills; Peace, Love, and Good Vibes.
And to you Jimmy, and to all my Family on this Solstice Day!
And to those of you who have some ethnic bent:
    HAPPY HANAHQUANZAAMAS!!!!

    All my love
    Mouseman

Hey Mouseman, I do remember you well, The roundhouse at the end of the valley was yours and the woodrats ate your stash a time or two. I have 3 kids at home, 6,10 and 17 and a 23 year old lost to my addiction out there with his mom somewhere. Im still in the bay area, in Napa. I plan on building a nice sweatlodge here on our place when I can afford a new well (ours is pretty dry). Dont want to build fires till I can put them out. I have all the lessons learned there about woodcraft stored in the brain and have passed them on to my kids. I spend as much time fishing and outdoors as I can with my kids. Hoping to go out for dungeness crab while they are on winter break, Im closest to my youth when Im on the beach or in the woods. I cant own firearms anymore due to all the felonies but my kids all shoot bows and air rifles and have all the skills when they get older. There is an old 98k waiting in a safe for my oldest (at home )to move out get a place of his own. I really liked the time I spent in Oregon and my 23yo son by chance ended up in roseburg with his mom. I would move back up there given the chance but California seems to be my path and a good one at that. Im pretty happy, pretty healty and pretty fat =) I beat the hepC bug and have decent liver function and most of the other shit works well. A little high blood pressure and arthritis but thats managable and causes little or no problems. Few regrets, I would not have the life I have without the past Ive lived. Hope you all get to dance nekkid around the bonfires tonight and thank the Gods and Goddess' for another year!
a fortuitous chrismahannaquanzarammadanika to you all!

The Page St. House that was fire bombed by the cops was a mixed GE/WPP house and the cops came through the door without a wattent and the White Panthers fired on them. The cops claimed they were there for a woman who was doing second story jobs while 8 months pregnant.

I think it may be that the Under House was bombed twice. I recall that at one point the Prisoner's Union paper was being published from there at the time of one bombing.

milo I think, gregwah is real familiar, skinney, curly hair played the banjo maybe. As I remember it there was Banjo, dulcimer, guitar, washtub bass, washboard, harmonica and a mandolin as well as spoons and juice harp and whoever brought what to play along I dont remember a fiddle but.... Lets see if I can pull up a memory cell or two. There was a place sort of across the road from the greenhouse. I remember (I think) a cow eating plants out of the back of a truck while the troopers were taking the crop. We all were amazed they gave a reciept! That place was elevated a bit above the road. Across the way was a house at road level that I remember music and stuff going on. Where I was passed out froze I dont remember lots maybe a small white house with 2-3 stairs. Then a house off the road a bit near tiller, above tiller I think and a woman lived there. anyhow, blessed be till the long night passes.

As each one finds their way home I read the words on these pages, the words of fond hellos and glad to see yas. We recall in our 'way back whens' what we had in our youth and what we represented.

I look back over a span of over a half century and am amazed by it all. That I even got this far and still have my faculties about me. I am blessed to still be in tact. I was not kind to myself. I put my body, mind and spirit to the test too many times to admit.

In my adulthood I was not a malicious person. I let things slide unless challenged by injustice or someone got in my face. But it was never ill content, more like standing up for myself and my rights as a Human Being.

I see that in all of us that gather here. We were all seekers of turth and justice. We wanted to live our lives the way we felt we should be living it. We had our freek flags flying, of paisley peace signs as we spread the good news of a new way.

A way to live on the earth with our brothers and sisters and the creatures that inhabit the planet with us in harmony. We wanted to have choices not stuffed into a clone matrix of decite and manipulation. We did not want to live by someone elses standerds.

We band together, as likemindedness will draw to the same frequencies and pull together as one. We were individuels, did our own thing and thought for ourselves but we were warriors of a different nature. We used truth as our sword and love as our shield as we battled the negitive forces that were trying to stiffel us, trying to stop the flow of love from reaching us, stealing our abundance and peace of mind.

We as Human Beings that were not brainwashed could still see the path. We knew the way from ancestrial residue that clung to us in our passage. It was intuitively placed so the Light would shine like a lighthouse beaming brightly against the fog so we would not lose our way.

Some drifted from the path and were caught up in the negitive aspects of what was out there. The darker side. I myself traveled down that nowhere path just to learn it lead nowhere. I think we all had our moments, we tasted all that was set on the table before us and we drew our own conclutions. Most returned to the path guided by the Light. The Light drew them home.

They were no longer blinded by the darkness, they could see the light again. We had learned that the darkness held no love, no beauty nor any compassion. We fled back to the light and found our lives returning to us.

We went forward, we built a community and depended on ourselves and eachother for survival, we were a tribe of people that came from the ashes of the dispare of mankind.
We became strong and our news was spreading like wildfire across the universe.

People started to listen and to wake up out of their hypnotic sleep. The negitive forces did not like us, they wanted total dominence we faught for freedom. The war was on.

We were beaten, jailed and many lost their lives. We held our ground and stayed our beliefs. We conqured our small habitat and prospered, for a time.

As all things pass this too passed and we spread our wings to other places we were called to. We learned our lessons and raised our children and built our dreams. We never forgot our family tho,' the ones that travel far and lost contact.

We still held them dear to our hearts and part of the fabric of our makeup. As we are growing towards our deprature to a different demention we are once again draw together to complete the circle of our tribe.

We once again sit at the grand table of council and contenue our work. We lend ourselves to one another and gain strenght. The love flows in abundance as we each find our way home.

The time of change has once again found our doorstep. We are not done yet, we are being called to complete our mission that we were sent to fulfill.

The time of change is upon us once again. 2012 is knocking at the window. We made a difference then and we make a difference now.

    Blessing to All

    Good stuff Nails..

LJ Greg Wah played Guitar only his signature song was sensemilla!! J.D. was the main Guitar man, Buddy was the banjo man, Boggie Joe gut bucket till we got him a bass in Baltimore of all places (named the bass Cynthia) and eventualy Sherry was a fiddler. You mentioned Tan Dan. The man who was always in skins!! Like Sag Darrell used to be a skinner! I think you mentioned him also you must have come across some of the Food Farm folks who were up across the river by EDR (Ed date Ranch where there was a great swimming beach. I had my bus at the whrilpools for a few years after we left Mark Flecks farm in Milo. There was also Duna farm down in Milo.

Maybe we were up at the old Workers Forest Camp past and above AV when you were around later. We had two big busses and a dtubby up there for a while before we went to Flecks!

We later lived in the LITTLE house on the river road just up from Tiller(go left just before you crossed the bridge to go to the Tavern), as you went up river to AV. Bruce and Candy lived on Boots Hill a bit past me,

Early on I was on Tyson Road before I got what we all called "the 80" as it was half of an old 160 acre homestead up Cow Creek. Used to get there from Tiller/Elk Creek by going over the mountain on the old Logging Road (Diamond Rock road I think it was called)

Funny you mentioned the RECIEPT stuff.......I know a little(LOL) about getting one of those!!!!!!!!!!!

You would be BLOWN away if you saw the River Road today. They enlarged it and you can get to Cayonville from Tiller in less than 1/2 hour now!!! BUT the good thing is that it is still very similar as to the people who settled there!! I tried to get a place on the river again this past year. No luck with that....YET!

Happy what ever you celebrate as we soletisted/X-mas/Chunnaked/Q-zaed (for Leebo!!) and any other thing you may celebrate! Spill a taste on the ground for those who have past as they will enjoy the gester!!

    Peace and love

RAIN! Quick! Plant something! Just for the symbology of it! Who cares if it freezes.

    Do it as a ritual!
