Just talked with Steven Stacy on the phone. He's got a collection of political or something writings of his that he's sending to me for a second opinion. Not for our book stuff. His stuff.
I did tell him that we're all doing a big book. He's interested. Doesn't have a computer around. Library.

Well, ya cant ask for more then more, now can ya. I would like to get some candid shot of The Fam but I dont know of very many ppl that came by with a camera to take snapshots... ppl wanted to more or less stay anonymuse. Like Jimmy for instance, I'm pretty sure he didnt want his mug plastered about the Haight. Since he had excaped from prison and all.

Lots of stories to be told for sure. I did post our book that was in the works over to the other place but have had little interest so far. Darel did like the idea but has yet to come by and drop a few lines.

Ace did Promise to take a few mintuets and check things out. Maybe Spud will come by and see us. He hasnt been in for a while.

Well, we will just have to handle it ourselves for the time being. As soon as Chris gets back and Ellen gets up off her lovely ass and writes something We will have more meat to cook over the fire.

You got mail. It's kinda good I think. Maybe, anyway. Hubilicious got up and turned on the Western Channal and all the gunfire and racket broke the spell I was under and I could not write of peace and love no more...lol

Maybe I will pick it back up later, as it seems things come and go in cycles. I hope there is a ton of stories coming in. The more the better and fast we can fill 500 pages.

 

It did take some digging but I did find you.. yes, yes it's all true and it's there in writing for all to see, so go see







page 42 on the book so far, Three people in three weeks. That's a start but a far cry from 3500 with just the three of us typing our fingers to the bone. Maybe if 4 were to do it or even 5 people would write and then 6 and 7, it would be a movement A Happening and a whole lotta fun.

 

I've got two in the works and I do believe maybe Rita has one started...

 

That's great news. I hope it gets inside your head and keeps you and Rita busy. I know I am ready to get after it in the mornings. Wah said he was gonna try to get in some writing time in the next few weeks. Mouseman also said he was writin and that makes 6 that I know of. Ace is a deffinate Maybe We will see what we will see. Darel needs to get himself busy writing. He said he was interested so maybe 7 or 8.

We need to just keep writing and hope everyone will join in.

Kenny I am not going up Joshua Tree this time been a few year since i was hanging with the acheints as you know what I mean. going up to Anasa Borragio looking at something. Also been up in Mile High Illdywild for a bit. Warner Springs Kit carsons old haunt too.===

Will get cracking in like two weeks like i said. But the big time will be on Molokai from mid October to mid November and that will be wereI really write a lot for you a bunch of STP/ Street living with Greg, Buddy, and other wahs and also how the mixes of the flos that meet and moved in togather in the Haight pads which were there for the times when I was in and out. As you know I was always taking up the two to three day motto as far as staying in the Upper/lower Cole Oak and the underhouses maddness. But got lots of the traveling stuff that can be whipped out. La Honda stuff the Big Sur stuff like Ranger..Hell it was probally Ranger who told me how to get to the secret spot there to hang. Back in the day kenny we lived in the National forest Camps for sometimes months at a time. Crater lake pinnicles too and also Ward Colorado nederland Boulder las Vagas New Mexico in the sangre de cristos.

Kenny do not get discouraged as the stuff will come in waves and then you will be overwhelmed as I think that MM will have PLENTY!! too now that he can talk to a computer!! I want one of those.

Remember I was the Crash Pad man not the stay and become part of the G.E. as I was always in and out. I do have one for you also about the VERY LITTLE known house on Third Ave that was the place for sanity (not sure why I was welcomed) and not to be broadcast as a place to come for most of the regulars. What a reprive it was.!1 They were different folks there too that wanted to protect their place as it could have easily been over run with to many of the PEOPLE if the word got out about the place.

Finally again I state in the public place here that you MUST be the judge of the way this will work as you are the protector of the song right now!!!! I do not envy yourposition as you are in fact having to deal with attitudes and poo!! Hey even if any thing I contribute does make the cut for this project I will not only be fine I will also enjoy what you all get togather for this book!

Time to STOP the SILLY BS of the whineing (SORRY if that offends some ) But hell this is not about anything other that protecting something that can/will be of value and since this will be in the world of the MAN and its rules copywrite protection is of great importance. That is the best way for all to own and be part of this project. WAY to much stuff is taken and placed in books by others and original writers lose all the time. Like the old black blues men in the old days with there music.

Theft or credit for these things were absconded regulary the original artist got screwed as a matter of course and it was wrong!. since you are compiling and formatting all this for selling to those who want the storys then you MUST do all that you are doing.

AND lastly I have been reading the and they are good!!i I just do not think that nails has to mush to say!! llol lol lol Nails you are a writer with a purpose that is evident and you do have great pros to go along !!

And Nails just a reminder remember when you and I TRIED to help Arty Kornfelt when he wanted to get the Goodstock thing going and how we put a lot of work into it to only be dissed and forgotten. Well that project collapsed due to sillyness. THIS will be different and i think that kenny has a great handel on how to make it work best.. EVEN if he is just a big ole prick!!! I just want to tell you to take a look at the length of what you just posted. Now, Ranger doesn't really type, just like many of us. Go read his stories. To get a real long in depth Ranger story, I plan to visit them and to record him, and her too.

My point? What you just poster is probably the length of two typed Ranger stories or perhaps two and a half. Check 'em. This is said to encourage you and not to disparage Ranger. He's ding awesome, I think. The point is that a tale can be of any length. Some are three paragraphs. Some are seven pages. Most all are on the shorter side. There's the point. Half page, one page, page and a half, to three pages.

Next, no sweat if you wait till November. Why? Because hippies always have alternative ways to do everything. If you want to know this alternative way, just ask me and I will e-mail you The Production Plan. Same for all of you. This especially goes for any of us who are wondering just how we're going to pay tons of money for book production. The Plan.

I went to the fed copyright site the other day. $35 online registration and $50 for their form by mail. You still need to mail them a printout of your "work". You are good (valid) on their "Receive Date" but the official certificate may take (on Average) three months. That's about what in took for the certificates back in 1979, when I registered two T-shirt/ Poster Art pieces with the Library of Congress, Office of Copyrights. Ranger. You remember the Skull and the Butterfly, and also the Big Space Trucking Company t-shirts (white on black shirts), and silk screening in the back kitchen. Don't you?

The Cheshire Cat has it all covered. I am not even remotely in charge. Right now I'm only working in the production department. The cat will be the one filling the copyright, too. I don't have 35 bucks to spare, or the UPS cost for the box of printouts. LOL

For the book to really come together to SING for all of our readers, we will need some short sweet CLEAR definitions of "What the F" that we're talking about.

The readers will need a "definition" of "What the F" is, Good Earth. STP, Morning Star, Wheeler's Ranch (all back in the day) Maybe I can Get Bill Wheeler to tell a tale too, La Honda, Salmon Creek commune, any other commune that you can name or think of, the Mother Fuckers, hey Chuck, Panthers, White and Black, Hog Farm you name it. I have a Goose, Red Rocks, Dead show, Hog Farm story. Actually two stories in one. But that was something like maybe 1984. Don't know is we should go that recent. I guess that a good tale is a good tale, though.

Anyway, we will need personal "definitions" or explanation of almost everything.

Think. How in the world do you hippies expect me to sell your book to the China market if they have to guess everything. "What the F" is Underhouse? We know what we're talking about but our readers have no clue.

Explanations and definitions can be as short as a paragraph or two. Longer if you get into it.

I need 7 shorts explaining Good Earth. 7 points of view. I will NOT put these in the layout for each other of us to see. No influence on your point of view in this one. It's all your eyes and thoughts.

BTW, This is a terrific place for any of us to start out with our writing, to get your feet wet in writing and telling tales. Short and sweet. A great way to get warned up, before launching into your tales.

Good Earth 7 minimum.
Underhouse 5 min please more.
Each other house or flat. 3 min.
the Haight-Ashbury, (my take) at least 5.
Gerneral "commune life" 8.
Explanations of all the other stuff in that paragraph list, 3 min.
And anything else subject wise that you can think of an add to this list. We are all writing a classic here. A total classic for all times.

Think of it this way. Will people know "What the F" we're talking about in Germany, Iran, China ( Everybody wants to know about hippies. Big market. Lots of customers. We love them. Peace! ) Israel, Singapore, France. Turkey, Japan, Korea, Australia, India, England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Brazil. We will translate our books folk. People don't know what any of this stuff is folks. We truly need to add short snippets of info in our book so the reader get it.

Do you remember back when we were all going to "Save The World"? Well our chance has finally arrived. In making this one thing go worldwide we establish prominence worldwide and so than we can truly influence worldwide. Peace!

One paragraph, What is meant by "cleaning a lid". Straight readers would have know clue. Correct? They're are going to be the very first people who pay for our book. Juicey Taboos. Tell alls.

Especially! Multiple person short definitions and explanations.
