Sorry to hear about you farming diaster. The heat heer is bad but my crop of legal bullshit and musci doesn't seem to be suffering., Of course you might try indoor hydroponic drip farming so you don't lose all that water to the sun. The israelis seem to have made a go of it as have many of the pot growers in this country and abroad.

Everything happens for a reason. The 1 thing we cannot control is the weather, at least to my knowledge.. well, I have to take that back.. a few yrs ago we were and have been inna drought. I was distrought over my gardens drying up and getting little bounty.

As most of you know, I dabble in the Arts from time to time and have certain realizations of using ones 'abilities' to make need change, if used correctly and get disirable results.

Jom made me a Water Willow Staff and sent it to me for mother's day a while back. My Neice and I were desucssing how dry it was and I had an epitheney and grabbed up the staff Jomie had made me a took it out side and started swiing towards some clouds that were headed away from us. I chanted as I swung that staff high in the air. I chanted to the Wind and to Thunder and to the Goddess of the trees to show favor on us and bring us rain. My neice was a bit tipsy at the time and decided she would take a crack at it and was also chanting and had a go at swinging the staff.

Suprizingly enough, or not, it did bring the rain. Why would I be suprized by achieving a result that I was trying to create.. ohh but I regress.

The point I was roundaboutly getting to is that ppl adapt to their enviroment when they have little or no other recourse but stick it out and deal with what is happening. We are courious creatures, in our stubourness we refuse to lose hope, we adapt till things get right again or we do it different next time.

Whatever it take to survive and keep our land. We always have a chance if we have the strenght to hoe a row. We can live on taters and onions if we have to. Country Folk Can Survive. As long as there are woods to hunt and lakes to fish we will be standing our ground and fight the good fight.

Life is fleeting, it never lasts long enough to get everything done, so we do what we can till it's over. We aint sure as to what happens then but we will all find out if it is a consciouness thing or not. There is no excaping it.

 

Your determintation is fantatstic. But still try the hydroponic thing.

 

Thanks Zev, I will take that up with Hubilicious. Still trying to convince him to build me a greenhouse. He may as well build a hydro plant onto it while he is at it and we would have the best of both worlds.

I have not seen Ranger or Rita post inna while. She conyacyed me a week or so ago and said Ranger wasnt feeling too good. His Appitite was down and he did feel like eating and losing more weight.

Has anyone heard from them in the last day or so?

Talked with Ranger, Mon. Says he's feeling stronger. Has an appetite. Hung up, to eat some matzo ball soup. He sounded good. He called to tell me that our friend Henry Goldfield was rushed off to heart surgery, just like Ranger had. Emergency. As you may recall Henry is the guy who got Rita and Ranger rescued from the flood at the Russian River back and when. Yay! Henry!

Please everybody send some love vibe or say a prayer, IT was an ambulance emergency.

Henery has been transfered from the Santa Rosa hosp to the VA in SF as of yesterray pm after by pass surg Sat a week ago. I talkrd to the gang at his Broaday Tattoo shop yesterday and will be calling him shortly.

I seem to have an appitite agaiin and am feeling much better. Thankks again to all!

 

Hi SH, Ranger,,,, good to see ya up & about Ranger! SH,,, ya see at Rainbow thread we have a missing woman. I'm pretty upset about this as they were parked only a hundred ft. or so past me. I was sooo grumpy, I just did my work, didnt interact much. Just did the newbie raps. It wouldnt be such a big deal except it was her first gathering, and she was not an experienced camper. I fear the worst it's been so long. Sorry to be a bummer folks,,,, is what it is. Pray they find her,,, alive would be good,,,,,

I got a call from Ranger yesterday; had a good talk, he sounded good. Seems he's teathered to an oxygen bottle that is slowing him down. With tongue in cheek I admonished him to "get to work hippie!" because I believe that when any of us is engaged in what we love, our spirits (and health) will rise. I wish it was a simple case of hittin her trail, but it aint like that. I have a dear old friend who does the OCF his thing is the nose flute! And some really good friends of mine left gathering to come down to enjoy the OCF... alas I aint got the kind of bread needed for such events,,, I vollenter,, i cant spell it damnt,, any way for Old Settlers,,, Kerrville. That way I can camp and see stuff. I am security!!!

Ya know, I got kicked 500 bucks to feed folks at gathering by an old ex tunnel rat this yr. He sd. I cannot go, ( he is afraid of what he would do if the leo's hassled him, he says thats not what he fought for, so they can tell us we aint allowed on the land, he aint happy about us not bein allowed to feed the folks on the streets in so many places now either)

I enjoyed feeding people, I might only be able to cook for 10 at a time, I am a lil tiny kitchen, not a big rainbow kitchen,,, we all do what we can, eh? I really like Portland,,, I am missing the tree's out there, theys what calls to me. I've spent allot of time out that way over the past 10 yr's. Maybe it's time for a move!!!!

Weds. 1:30 in the morning. Mary Jo and I have a beautiful layered pie shell w/powered sugar, butter, and vanilla between the shell layers, filled with blueberries and brown sugar, and flour, with a ton of Dutch Sweet Crunch—pound of cut in butter, with flour, brown sugar, regular sugar, powered sugar, and cinnamon—baking on the top.

We can't wait.

Man Kenny that is a mean midnight sweet tooth fix!! I am off sugar and on Taheebo now.......So here is my after midnight Kitchen adventure.....Me and Sheila woke up at 1:30 a.m., got up and boiled up a pot of water and put in the Bark of the taheebo tree, watched it as it rolled in the pot for 15 minutes! After all the excitement of this I then drank a cup and went back to sleep. I left out the x rated part where I saw Sheila Naked!!! lol lol lool

The late night taheebo story just does not sound Near as sweet or exciting as making the sugar pie after midnight!! After you ate a piece of that pie did you feel like you snorted crushed up Black Beauty/ Bet it was a rush!!! lol have a great day all!

ps Zev not only are you an old hippie if you keep the OCF cloth wristband on for a year it will help to qualify you with "Dirty OLD Hippie Status" for next year!
Zev you did not know that you maybe could have had the OCF band cut off and made into an Offical OCF Lamanate I.D. (just like the ALL ACCESS types) with your picture and your OCF Name!! Next year you need to get the Lamante!!! I got mine nener nener nener! lol lol lol. Zev, next year at the OCF I want to roll into Mouseman and Heathers in my own Revcon and a Harley!! The Revcon to reside in, the Harley to drive to the Back Stage area that is set aside, "FOR HARLEYS ONLY" now that would be very cool!! OH YEAH with an OCF LAMMY hanging around my neck!!!

it's so hot, the air conditioner was serviced just before I left (may 24 ) and my roomate put it at 80 when she left to come up to gathering,, 15 june. We got home the 20th of july! Bill was low! I called my brother who serviced it, they are sooo busy. Now dig this, back when we was all kids just gettin off the streets here, we didnt have air conditioning,, we had fans, and buckets of water. We took our fans everywhere , sat on porches with our fans. :rofl:
I wish I was still up NW,,, sigh
