Find where I stated any such thing ... Does having love for someone entail calling them names? Or is this projecting? Does it call to pass judgement on someone without first looking at our own selves? Does it require us to act with ill-will, anger or hatred without first listening to what we say, or are we to turn a deaf ear to our own words in order to justify our own "evil mind"? HTML:
You say I harbour hatred for him. And I replied that I do not. As I said before, I do not hate him, but I believe his words and actions make him a hypocrite, as he is fronting a religion that promotes peace but longs for the death of another man. If you do not believe that is hypocritical that is your opinion, but I believe that he is.
That we do to the least we do also to ourselves, let those who are blameless cast the first stone. He does not judge him, he has his own judge. It is not necessary to be greater than the master, it is enough to be like him. They know not what they do. As we remove the log from our own eye, we lift the speck from our brothers, understanding we must condemn in order to justify our unwillingness to forgive.
I agree with the overall spirit of this post. We are called to holiness, but we still sin. sometimes we accidentally hate. Oops, we confess, are forgiven and perform a penence to express our gratitude. After reading more of the thread, it appears there is a quasi-consensus that to hate is bad. In regards to the person in question, I think the biggest thing about him is that a hypocritical idea of Christianity and our call to "hate", but an ignorance of the preaching of the Jesus whom we call Christ. This man is completely ignorant of prayer for repentance. This man could pray (if he were Catholic) to St Mary Magdalene or any number of repentant Saints. Since he is not, he could ask God to enter the heart of Barrack Obama and turn it from evil. He could join in the chorus (including many Catholic bishops) that sees the idea of a reformed health care (for those who cannot afford HMO and whatnot) as a good thing, but the specific preliminary outlines as containing an evil (coverage for abortion) as a bad thing that needs to be rectified... I think he is misguided, and it is really sad actually. I feel like I need to say a prayer for him...
I did not say I was without fault.... and the thread asks for Christians to explain the video, so I did and I still feel he is being hypocritical. You have permission to continue flaming me for this if you so please.
Jesus said that basically there would be two groups that would call themselves Christian one group Jesus he would except and the other group Jesus said he would reject. Which group do you think Jesus would say this person falls into?
Okay, so above is quotes from every post I contributed to this thread where I actually used the word HATE. None of those entries are directed AT you personally. They do not insinuate YOU hate him. They do, however, insinuate you have indulged in hatred, first post ... look above. Stop taking this personally, it's not about you personally unless you feel it is. And you should take your own advice regarding personal opinions. You say "HE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN", "HE IS A HYPOCRITE". Passing judgement on anyone by saying what they are without having known this person for any length of time outside the time it took to watch a YouTube video is not done out of "love" for "your neighbor". If it is not out of love then it is out of something that is NOT LOVE. This too is UNCHRISTIAN-like because Jesus said to Love Your Neighbor ... Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you ... If ye love me, keep my commandments. And his commandments were not to pass judgement on people without ever having known them. This is not an act of love, let alone kindness? So really, anyone who can look at that video and pass judgement on him is looking at a video of their own selves. A person is defined by their actions, whether those actions are mental, verbal or physical. All actions come from the contents of a mans heart (mind). If one speaks ill of anyone, regardless of whether one thinks they DESERVE it or not, speaks with an evil mind ... according to the confessions of Jesus. If one speaks kindly of anyone, regardless of whether one thinks they DESERVE it or not, speaks with a mind full of goodness (A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good;), and I might add with a mind full of love, compassion and kindness. One who uses the word "I" generally speaks in regards to their own selves, indicating that, in this case, that I referred to you personally in my usage of the word HATE. Look over the posts I have contributed to this thread. No where was I referring to you saying you hated anyone. Look again and see that I did challenge your integrity by indicating that you did harbour hatred at one time or other. This thread is not about you. It is about one man's hatred, and the reactions, albiet not out of love, compassion or kindness, of everyone else. Stop taking my posts personally. You will create less stress for yourself if you do. I understand where you coming from but the Bible tells us that we should have good judgement like I believe JC said something like take the good and separate the bad (dont keep it). So what am trying to say is that Honey was implying a GOOD judgement by calling out this "pastor" guy on his wrong doings and I dont want to sound like judgement should always be criticism but also a warning to someone if they keeping do a certain act. I dont think the verses your using as in " love you neighbor" can apply to Honey since she having GOOD judgement on calling out this "pastor".
In that case, neither can anything else Jesus said [apply]. That being the case, all the teachings of Jesus are false and this makes Christianity a false religion. If one were to BELIEVE that even one of Jesus' teaching are TRUE, one would also have to take that ALL of his teachings are true, and FOR EVERYONE, regardless of how one feels their reactions are justifiable or not. Reacting out of anything but LOVE, which is the commandment of Jesus, is to act the same as the one their actions are directed at/to/against. This makes them equal to the others who say they are but act differently. HTML:
I think this, found in the KJV, book of Romans, applies: Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. HTML:
well no their not and btw the religion on your avatar imo is a complete rip off Christ teachings. Well their all are true and am not upset nor do I think you should follow them but I do recommend reading a Bible. True, but Honey was having Good judgement on calling out the dude for wrong doings example what if we all just got jailed for wrong doing should we all just take it or speak out against the evil doer? since your telling me act as my neighbor....
JMT, what does this have to do with anything relating to this thread? I don't even know what it means. Don't bother explaining, unless you want to start a new thread as any reply in this thread regarding this particular post will be considered off-topic. HTML:
Romans 2 God's Righteous Judgment 1You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 4Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance? I get what your trying to say to honey, Darrell about how can she call him out on his hate when WE ALL have hated on either race or religion or maybe not but that doesn't mean she cant have good judgement as long as she honest and knows that she hasn't hated in the past or what if she did but has turned from it? and now is using her good judgement? how do you know that?
I was not asking you to judge him but you were the one asking if his actions were typical of Christianity and I was just pointing out that his actions may be typical of one of the Christian groups that Jesus pointed out and may be totally atypical of the other Christian group. That I believe answers your question.
