It would interesting to see the Scriptures that "talks about God having the form of the Holy Spirit" and that God was "incarnated as human in Jesus", would you cite them for us?

And I am sure that one could "acknowledge all and worship all as one", if it were true but since it is not, why try to do so? :D

I have discovered through time that even when I have cited scripture, you have proven (over and over) your ability to either: interpret it completely differently; you have tried to discredit whatever scriptures I've given as being written all from one book - Matthew, I think it was in the past; and my favorite - you love to just quote an entire post and ask what I consider to be a smarty-pants question.

At any rate, I am only responding to this because I want others (not you really since you have your own brand of christianity) to know that worshipping the trinity (as the One True God) is the basis for many who have read the bible and tried to live according to WWJD.

And it is most certainly possible to acknowledge all (Father, Son and Holy Ghost) and worship all as one. If I didn't feel you were sometimes deliberately obtuse and etc, I'd feel for you that you can't/don't grasp this most fundamental of beliefs.

Interpret differently, certainly, usually citing other Scriptures as reason for the different interpretation.

No, I have never discredited any Scriptures, unless they are spurious Scriptures that are not in any of the older manuscripts of the Bible and then it is not me that discredited it.

I have never tried to discredit whatever scriptures you've given as being written all from one book of the Bible.
If you really are interested in my answer to every point in a post, just ask I'll be glad to go though it point by point but I've been doing this for a while and have found that many people either do not read it or are not interested or have made a needlessly long post just to divert the conversation away from points that they don't want to talk about.

Yes that is true, many worship the trinity and you do not even have to be a Christian to worship the trinity.
It is a fundamental teaching alright, a fundamental teaching of almost every religion known to mankind, the only trouble I have with it is that it is not a Bible teaching and thus should not be part of our worship of Jehovah.

Agree, it's because our minds are finite. Honestly, I wouldn't expect God to make perfect sense to me. It would mean he's been limited in some way.

True, but with God's help he can teach us the things we do not know.

The Eastern Orthodox, Eastern Catholic, nor Roman Catholic worship Saints or their images (statues and icons) in the same manner that God is worshiped.

A little old for the thread, but needed to be said.

Yes, like a Triune Godhead or the Real Presence--thouh we still cannot likely grasp every intricacy of its Truth.

OWB, you rhetorically ask for Scriptures proving that God is int he form of the Holy Spirit, but that is a false understanding of the Trinity. God does not have modes or expressions (sometimes he is the Father, other times the Son...).

The three persons of the Trinity are seperate, yet exist as a single essence or nature, not merely similar or another yet distinct and still powerful nature.

In some mystical way, we are all members of one another as the Body of Christ, and two married peoples, again in a mystical way, become one flesh (the words of our Lord). In a mysterious way, the three persons of the Trinity are co-equal, co-eternal, and consubstantial.

And more than that the codes about the divine measured existence, the very universe began in the 13th century. That means it began with the duplicated word being and being thought for itself in the middle of time, the middle of life, the middle of knowledge. This is the view of the empty page subscribed to by the protestors, both criminal and angelic. This is also the view of Dan Maclean of American Pie fame. In between, there was constant progress of every hope for understanding eternity. The naive can claim to regard materialism as ignorant now.

Ukr Cdn, If I understand correctly, in the doctrine of the holy trinity, the spirit is not necessarily God. The Son is not necessarily the Father and likewise the Father is not necessarily the Son. But we read in Corinthians that Paul contextually identifies Jesus as the holy spirit:

    2 Corinthians 3:17

    http://www.angelfire.com/space/thegospeltruth/trinity/verses/2Cor3_17.html

Although we may not understand exactly how God created the universe, we can still know that God did make the universe. In the same way we can know if Jesus is part of a trinity.

I apologize. A job is a job for timing the fatal attraction to the lordless better than the feminine judgments of Hegel. Hegel was himself a dead man above the Godhead, and the concept of God was above Hegel; but not above me.

No, you misunderstand, the Holy Spirit is a person of the Trinity just as the Father and Son are. As stated in the Nicene Creed the Holy Spirit proceeds from (though this does not mean there was a time when the Spirit was not).

Isaiah (9:6) contextualises Jesus with the mighty God, the Eternal Father (and other titles), so what are we then to conclude? Oneness Pentacostalism?

A mighty God, not the almighty God :) What's so bad that Jesus be only a man? (earthly ministry)

Nicene Creed, Oneness Pentacostalism, Trinity? Why would I care? What matters is what the scriptures plainly says. Jesus is plainly the holy spirit, all those doctrines set out by man does not change that

Also, I wasn't saying that Jesus is God as in oneness but that he is God's son. Oneness Pentacostalism is not what I believe. All Christians will take on the image of Jesus and God and become holy spirit, like the angels. That does not mean that all is one.

Aside from that, I really don't want us to fight or there to be divisions between us. It's pretty apparent that neither of us is going to budge on doctrine; we have gone back and forth like this before and I don't really want us to have a fighting match on these boards like we used to so let's just continue being buds :) It's mostly my fault though

John 10:30 (KJV) (and written in red)
"I and my Father are one."
    1 John 5:7 (KJV)
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, The Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

in what fashion are they one? Also, isn't 1 john 5:7 an interpolation?

I don't understand the question...those are just direct quotes.
I probably should just have let it all lay, cause I don't want to argue either - and I appreciated your words/sentiments, def...it's just that I had found those scriptures the other night and meant to post them. To me, they are just (more) scriptural "proof" (meaning it's found in the bible) of the Holy Trinity. (and Christianity NOT being poly-theistic)
I know you can look them up and see that even tho' I've only given these quotes, in this particular thread, I don't feel they are out of context. :)

Thanks, Lynn for the kind words. I know we are both on a different page when it comes to this topic. Although I sorta feel the need to talk more about this, I don't think I can do it without unintentionally starting another back and forth.

I know you see it as proving the trinity but I personally don't. I could be wrong with everything I say so I ask people to see for themselves. Remember though, the teachers of Christianity will be judged more harshly by God so it's up to us to be very careful what we tell each others, that definitely includes me. Maybe in the future we can have a thread that is very orderly and debate there, no promises though :)

What we both do agree on, however, is that Christianity is not polytheistic :)

Ya pulled a trick on me there, def...:D

the reference from 1 John 5:7 I stated isn't "interpolated" in the way I understand that word...To me "interpolated" (and the New World Dictionary) means "to polish, dress up, corrupt or alter" - and that is just the 1st of the definition. I quoted directly from the KJV - no polishing or corrupting from me.:sunny:

Parts of the text you quote were added in the MIddle Ages and have been removed from most bibles, they do not appear in the older manuscripts.

Thank you def for your kind (and what I feel to be Christian) response. I also feel you are most correct in that those that teach (or talk/witness to) others about God will be judged more harshly...be it in this forum or in r/l. I, too, include myself that I should be careful in what I say (as well as action...but that's for another thread).
