I thought "Om" was used as a way of getting to know the God within each of us? Jesus said the kingdom of God is within each of us, did he not? I could be wrong about the definition of "om" though. I guess I probably can't have my cake and eat it too if you know what I mean...hmm...

Then again, what if Jesus DID in fact study Eastern spirituality. It's possible the scriptures got altered over the course of the last 2000 years...I have a lot of thinking to do.

Om is a sanskrit syllable meaning supreme being. The word amen is a indo european variant of the word aum.

I see. Thanks for that and to everyone who replied. I guess I'll experiment and see what feels right for my path. Peace.

I'll also add that I dont know how anyone with a genuine interest in spirituality can pick only one path to follow, I'm in way over my head here...they ALL have aspects I agree with. Maybe its because Im still pretty young and want to explore as much as I can, i dont know...I guess Ill find that for which I was destined one day...

As far as the relationship between aum and amen? Perhaps you heard that amen means so be it. It is so, supreme being, is-ness.
