You haven't heard about Graham's TED talk which got censored by TED themselves? The talk is about ayuhuasca and its potential for humans. TED clearly didn't like what he was saying, removed his TED talk from their site and a big fuss followed... Eventually I think they re-added it to the TED website following a huge uproar, and even posted an apology, or at least a retraction of their previous negative claims about Graham's presentation.

In it he discusses how he recently stopped using Cannabis after using it heavily for pretty much his whole life... he explains why he stopped and the benefits he gained from it, all while maintaining supreme respect for the cannabis plant and attributing any negative effects more-so to himself and his pattern of use, as opposed to projecting them onto the plant.

 

i left the oxy scene for a while, but the cash flow was fucked up..

 

that's interesting. the new vice show on hbo did a segment on using ibogaine to treat heroin addiction, it was very interesting.

edit: i thought i recognized that name! he just did a recent episode of the JRE, i haven't listened yet though.

And yeah the podcast with him and Joe is great too, there's an older episode of the podcast with him as a guest as well. I don't know if you're familiar with Graham, but he is most well known for his extensive, copious and detailed amounts of research which seems to indicate there was a relatively advanced society on Earth thousands of years before traditional academia has speculated. Pretty interesting stuff. He's also an intelligent advocate of psychedelics, and has done some work in that area as well.

You should check out Rupert Sheldrake's TED talk that got removed from the TED website too... His talk was titled "The Science Delusion" and you can guess what it was about. Not a denunciation of science, but instead an analysis of it and a few pointers toward things its missing, its flaws, and things which can be done differently. There was a huge uproar following the removal of Sheldrake's talk too, and they ended up issuing and apology or retraction of previous comments about his presentation...

I lost a lot of respect for those TED folks.. here there are masquerading around like they are innovative, open-minded pioneers, when in reality they jump to censor anything they feel might threaten current paradigms, or might rub against the grain of mainstream thought... Weak.
