    Why that catscan rolling?

I still don't get hospitals... they irritate me... I remember when I broke my toe I literally had to wait 9 hours... And I wouldn't have went just for a stupid toe, but it was my big toe and it was no longer positioned the way it should be to say the least lol... it was off to the side and snapped, and turned black.. so i didn't wanna lose it :p

I wait 9 hours... then i get called in to wait another half an hour in this doctors room, then the doctor finally comes in, literally glances at my toe, then writes me an x-ray slip and sends me out... WTF... why couldn't i have just gone straight to the x-ray and save 9.5 hours!? Then after the x-ray you gotta go home, wait a few hours, then they'll call you back and you have to see another doctor, then all that doctor does is give you another paper for some medication...

So... I don't get what these doctors do in cases like these... Because i've had many broken bones, and it's always like that

That is the way it is here in SC...can't say for all the states. I'm surprised it isn't better in Canada.

I've also broken many a bone. After a L O N G wait in the er, they have sent me into a bitty cubicle where I have to wait for an x-ray. Then, when said x-ray is eventually taken and verifies that yes, indeedy, my bone (or bones) are broken, I have to then make an appt with an orthopedist.

The orthopedist may take me in the next couple of days, or in the case of my ankle it was almost a WEEK. A couple of times they set the bone IN the orthopedist's office...NOT a good experience.

In the case of my ankle it was 3 weeks later I had to have surgery because by the time he f i n a l l y saw me, I had fracture blisters and they had to heal before they could put me in surgery and set the bones.

Perhaps we just aren't special enough, Ortus. ;)

yes, but that probably mean to wait in line forever..

broken wrist. 15min wait, 45mins I was home with 2perks, an xray and follow up..

Now:when I go to the doctors for non emergency shit. it takes all day..

first off...its quick here too...you have to know how to work with the system

they were teaching him to not bother the hospita when you stub your gay pinky

they weren't teaching me anything, they just suck :D my toe was twisted to the side and turning black, it might not be an urgent emergency but definitly an emergency nonetheless, unless you wanna lose your toe of course? lol

But it was the exact same way when I broke my arm, my ankle, and my arm again, except i it was 'only' about 5-6 or so hours those times...

I was always under the impression that you got treated fast in the US? Since it cost a lot, i thought you got in basically right aways?

I'm not a huge fan of how it works here, even though i'm not %100 sure how it does, but i'd honestly rather pay some money for some quicker service, it should be an option... if you don't want to pay you can wait with the rest, but if you're in a hurry... then you have that option

-edit- oh.. and i remember I broke my finger, got slashed with a hockey stick right on it, and my bone by my knuckle literally popped out and overlapped my other bone on the other side of the knuckle, if that makes sense, it was fucking nasty... then I had to wait like 7 hours in the ER for that too..

I've honestly never been really injured in my entire life, but I think it's weird how when you are in labor having a baby you are treated like hospital royalty. They just snatch you out of the E.R. line, put you in a wheelchair, roll you to an over-sized private room, and offer you food and pain management.

Even though I've not been hurt, I suspect that the people waiting with injuries are in more pain and could use at least as much attention as I got.

well I can understand how giving birth would be a priority...

some lady sitting in the waiting room screaming in pain, breathing heavy, trying not to give birth right there, then they call me up first, for a broken bone thats really just gunna be broken regardless if i'm waiting there or in the doctors office :D

I never knew that we had to pay for heath care here... since i just turned 19 i have to start paying for it soon if i don't go to school apparently... i don't like that lol i'd rather just pay for it when i need it, rather than paying a monthly fee..

    guess we can't complain lol

Google Glass coming out soon-ish to the general public... I remember hearing about this over a year ago and never thought much of it, thought it was just a gimmick that would flop, but now that it's almost here.. its kinda weird..

Mixed feelings about it, this is an awesome way for the government to track whoever they want, and could have huge privacy issues.. you could be filming anyone at anytime without anyone knowing.. But at the same time, its kind of cool... at the moment I definatly wouldn't even think about getting one... but think 5 years from now? Imagine what kind of apps they could develop for this and the things you could do? And if the majority of the general public starts wearing these 5-10 years from now, it could be kind of cool..

they don't seem like much now, but they haven't even been released yet... smart phones sucked when they came out, now look at all the apps and what they can do.. i can see this having even more potential

I don't think it will be to start off with either... give it a few years, as it becomes more advanced and cheaper, it could actually be really useful for a lot of people... Mostly work-related, but once it becomes popular in business and is seen on tv/movies, average every day people will want it just because... look at blackberrys lol..

especially when a bunch of cool apps come out for it

oh, ortus. how long did you wait before it turned black? if only you realized that they really cant do shit for toes but to tape them next to their neighbors. if only you knew how to set a broken {insert bone here}. sure, its advanced first aid... but it would have saved you a trip, and a wait.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtR_-MINR1o"]How Men React To Labor Pain - YouTube

i would take a broken bone, though the only bone pain i have experienced was dental surgery. i would gladly take stitches in my head, though they hurt like a bitch. labor at least gives you a prize for your pain, but its bad. and then, the humiliation they put you through after.... no one warns you. pain is pain, mind over pain works MOST of the time.
