I dont "hate" either of them as a group, i dont stereotype like that. I'm what you would call "emo" but i also know some chavs. Not all of them hate each other, it depends on the person. But generally speaking i definatly have to say chavs. No emo i know throws beer at you, spits at you, calls you gay or dickhead all the time just for not being like them. And i dont know ANY clever chav, not one, and i know alot.
everyone young guy I see at the moment seems to be dressed like an emo, it was so funny sitting oppersite them on the train in my hippy gear, they weher looking at me and I just thought, hippyness is the roots from where this group has grown from and I bet they think they're so original S
Charvas and Emos are just kids being rebels and we should celebrate it. You never know Charvas who are MCing with a hard hitting bass may become inspiring and creative, or maybe not but we have to be optimistic. Nevertheless just as the Teddy Boys, Mods, Rockers and Punks not to mention the greatest political rebels, hippies before them, are being original by trying to create an identity of their own. Shame they don't have a mantra of tuning in and dropping out, or getting politized about the Iraqi war, and many other massive events that are going on around us. Glastonbury is something that should come to and end though, I appreciate that we have to pay for things but where's the ideology gone?
In a way, all youth culture owes something to the hippies. Before the 60's, there was not really much of an independent youth culture, not even in fashion. Boys dressed like their fathers, girls like their mothers. The 60's really was a cultural revolution....
and what's with all this fucking metrosexuality...I can't tell who's gay or straight these days. I don't want to hit on anybody now. Pink shirt means nothing!
There isn't now; sure, there are plenty more labels one can give oneself, but surely the point of individuality is to not look or be like anyone else? Chav, emo, whatever... It's all conformity, in it's way. The only true individuals are those that don't require a label.
Aye, I would just totally have to go and complain and kick up a hell of a fuss...I mean, it ain't heteros have such poor manners really. I mean, it's ok for us to fuck in the street in front of CCTV, but talking sex at the dinner table...absolutely appauling darling! *shakes head*
Hippy too became a fashion trend. Besides, culture isn't individualism, culture is shared. It unites those of one group and divides them from others. Besides, my point was youth culture, as distinct from adult culture. Before the 60's it just never existed....
I know, we only get away with it cause we're gay, you try it and you'll be dragged through hot coals S
emo vs. chav - emo instils deep depression into chav, chav becomes emo... emo vs. chav - chav wins but.... ad-infinitum
