its definately different.looks like those old ass sinks usually found in basements.think they were called something like soap stone sinks.

i think it's shit.. split sinks are better for rinsing...

 

split sinks are good too, when defrosting things like turkey and you need the sink for other things... But i dont have a split sink..

 

it looks nice (though i prefer a split sink as well) it would be easy to wipe the counters off into the sink, not getting stuck in the edge like a regular sink. my parents have a split sink that is larger/ deeper on one side, so you can still fill a great big stock pot or canner, id like a sink like that. some pots and pans dont fit well in the typical split sink. i also like some of the ones with a built in drainboard.
of course, with a single large basin sink you can always use a dishpan. my current sink leaks when you put water in it to soak, so i have to use a dishpan in my split sink. i cant wait to have my own house where things actually get fixed when they dont function properly.
