I was totally spooked heather usually when someone comes over I am expecting them...
So to hear the doorbell ring at ten o'clock at night was alarming and then I was standing upstairs and about to go down when they tried the door knob and started to shake the door...I called 911 ...Then i tried to tip toe downstairs (to peek out window) when another motion detection light came on soo I ran back up.....cuz that meant someone was still outside .....soo yah it was scary for about a half hour till the police came back to let me know they found her up the road and she was lost the GPS led her to my house....

There is a hawk flying around here ...
I'm hesitate about feeding the finches and birds until the hawk leaves...
Cuz won't the hawk eat them

i saw a hawk pluck a bird from flight, and occasionally see a bunch of little birds chasing the hawks away. its the circle of life.
of course, someone did enjoy a bloody meal on top of my cinderblock wall. not really sure what it used to be. doesnt seem likely to be from a cat, though its possible. i know owls vomit up the bones, but i didnt see bones. dont think a coyote would bother having their snack on a wall.
im going to let the flies and crawly bugs finish dealing with it. im sick of scraping that crap up. need a fence.

hubby is on his way to work. finished reading Ender's Shadow last night, started Shadow of the Hegemon today, im about halfway through. i love these books, i wish my kid was ready to read them.

i think they like to hang out where there is easy access to food. if yo still want to feed the birds you should suspend netting over the feeded ( maybe on one of those gazebo frames) to prevent predatory birds from attacking from above. also little shelters on the ground will help, thats what people have to do when they freerange chickens and other livestock birds.

im going to set up a feeder station for birds and squirrels, with a window so we can see them up close. i will probably do one in the yard, but eventually we will have a reading loft in the garage, and a carport off the side, where we will add a window.
    one day.
    one day.

it rained a bit, i have to go pull some weeds. city says i have an illegal tree. i didnt plant it, and i cant eat it, so i dont care if it has to go.

the warning notice says its a siberian elm. its a bush, really. and i dont think thats what it is, the internet pictures all show kind of a papery flower, and while this bush does have ovate serrated leaves, it also has little white flowers. and there are tones of them all over the neighborhood.

maybe its that its too near the sidewalk, the notice isnt as specific as it could be.

no, they wont pay for it, we have to remove it.
they mailed a follow-up notice, but i cant find it in the shuffle.
