The paint is applied at over 500F so it does not become a health hazard as you do not cook that high. I did wash the can before I inserted it and it came out unchanged. Also it is inside the carcass so it does not directly touch the meat, I guess.

To be honest, I was not and am not concerned about it. :)

Hubby put Dr. Pepper in with the pork roast and it was the best pork roast I've ever had.

I am scared with what TY said.

I would like to try the same dish, but using something to hold the sauce.

My respect to Heat. The can does have colors and other substances that I am scared to use. It does cook in the meat.

So how can we take the same idea and enjoy... food.. yum.

If you could find a stoneware mug (they are oven proof) that would fit in the cavity of the chicken you could probably use that. Fill it about 1/2 full of the cider/beer and it would work. You only use about 1/2 the can of fluid. You could also seal the can in aluminium foil if you are worried about the ink. :)

I was more worried about the chicken being cooked. Used a meat thermometer to be sure as you use defused heat and turn off the burner it is over to cook it. :)

Edit: Just thought of this, you could use the bottom of a martini shaker, they are generally made of stainless steel. They would fit.

I've had all the tests though. Blood. Stool. There was nothing wrong to be found just I have a sensitive stomach to certain starches and mainly sauces. I know the trigger foods though.

My 'hotdogs' have no msg, HFCS and such... fucking expensive... I hear ya..

My uncle worked at a chicken farm in early 90's.

Grab bird alive, hang upside down, and in and out of oven it went in less than 5 minutes.

He didn't eat chicken for almost 20 years.

Well its good to know your information. Though I said those things cause I was talking about the effect before defect.

Just try and eat as healthy as you can, drink lots of water, and please please... stay away from microwaves... they are so fucking evil.

What's the problem with a micro anyway?
From what I read, it's mostly the containers and packaging that'll do you damage when heated, not the process of heating the food in there.
