Chats In The Belfry

Shortly after I moved here in 1990 I started taking classes at the university. In a beginning Sociology/Anthropology class the prof stated that our city busses the homeless to the larger city about 45 minutes drive from here. It made me hate living here. I don't know if they still do that but it sucks how the homeless are treated.

 

Other than healthcare, we are not much better than most places in the US. The soup kitchen in my city receives no funding from any level of government other than the odd grant to buy a new freezer or something.

 

The city that I used to live in did the same thing. They would put people on a bus and send them to a shelter in the next city, and then claim that they did it because there weren't enough people in need to justify a shelter. It seemed to me like it was more about keeping up the image of a middle class city by hiding all of the poverty.

decided to rest in a car i bought yesterday and started pulling out the stereo...car is full of ziplocks pretty obvious what the previous owners job was....didnt find any product but when i started popping off center console trim there was a nice little digital scale in there...screen says unsr on it though and google says i need to recalibrate it with a 500 gram weight
