When I was a kid and saw deer crossing signs I always wondered how the deer would know to cross at the sign. It is a bit hard to believe this woman is serious.

 

It sounds like your dad is sort of living vicariously through you and your dog. I'm glad you got mad about him getting smarty-pants (rolling eyes etc) with your lady...like you just said above - this should be FUN not STRESSFUL! FGS, if she is now doubting her ability to walk the dog "correctly", that doesn't bode well. I literally cannot imagine caging up an animal all day so that he would have energy to train. godalmighty

However, I really do agree with what Ty says below...

Isn't it possible just to have a really super well-trained dog that knows tricks, etc and be just HAPPY with that? (Well, I would be...if my heart could handle another dog.) From everything I've read and seen show-dog people are Super Serious and they demand this of their animals, too.

Of course, I admire Heather and her abilities with the dogs. It also sounds like she understands that just some dogs would be good show dogs but being a show dog isn't always in the cards for a particular animal.

If it takes all that hoopla to get a dog to be a "show dog" I know I'd say screw it...I'd just want a happy, obedient dog

got rid of the sewage tanks...they were empty enough i could still lift them and slide into my truck....that landfill idiots didnt know what they were (sewage is considered hazardous waste)...doesnt matter its all gonna get buried anyway

im going to the zoo tomorrow .....

 

I haven't seen any striped woollybears yet... The little orange ones seem to die in a few days, the rest have been solid black and huge. Something different with the species this year.

 

the wooly i seen last was orange in the middle with just little black tips. but I live in ohio valley , not ohio..
