when I was a kid we would reach down with one hand and change a flat without stopping the bike.....

kids today are so spoiled....


I was nicknamed jignerd for a bout a minute when I was around 8ish....jignard jotto.....don't ask me why cause I have no clue.....my lawyer sister made it up

and my bike....this is where the story comes together....my bike was called the ''jig mobile''.....it was a collection of parts of other bikes...

all different colors and barely a bicycle.

so one day I was practising wheelies in front of the neighbor girls,,,,,i grew up beside a family of 4 sisters......

so here's me doing a wheelie and doesn't my fucking front wheel come flying off the bike as I lift to do my signature catwalk......

I could catwalk my bike around the block by the time I was 12....anyway....wheel comes lying off.....forks come down hard into the pavement...they snap....and I do a chin plant along the road after flying over my handlebars.....

I was a bloody mess...... .....good times

 

if you could do a wheelie fo so long did you not notice the wheel was off while you were up on your back tire? i would think the best move would be to slow down as much as possible and fall backwards. there are no handlebars waiting to impale you from behind.

 

I did the catwalks when I was 12...that wheel fell off when I was about 8....at that time the ''catwalk'' was maybe 2 pedals haha.......I remember we would ride our bikes with no hands until one of us had to touch the handlebars......I wiped out many many times on my bikes.....way more times than my own kid ever did



my only skin graft was on the palm area below my thumb.......put my hand down to break a fall on a fast corner and ripped a 1 inch square right out of my hand......doctor cut a new piece out of my arm and glued'er in

 

damn you were little daredevils compared to us, we would try all that but if you couldnt do it you did whatever it took to keep from crashing hard.....crazy canucks

 

if you are dressed like a thug do not walk into phils gun store in the rocks. hes got signs on the door pull your pants up no bling here!! I dont think he knows what bling is.

 

that was the funny thing, 90% of the blacks werent thug looking. they were just everyday dressed people that were turned off by the racist attitude of the previous owner. the ones that were thug looking were as well behaved as the little old lady having a steak in the corner of the dining room.

 

Guy down the street from me when I was a kid did that... Except he planted his teeth into the pavement and they broke off... Years later we would point and say "Look... It's Paul's teeth."

They are probably still there.

found the hole, so i'm putting a patch on it. hopefully it holds, so that i can save a few bucks on a tube haha.

i'm going to go out this week and buy a mini-pump so that I can replace the tube and ride home next time instead of walking my bike all the way like a fool haha.

 

dont feel too bad i saw a guy do it with a motorcyle not to long ago.

Hahahaha my brother had a three speed on his bike ....you don't really see those anymore

I had something like this. I didnt like it.

 

My bike has 24 speeds, but I only use 5 of them. I just keep the shifter on the left in the middle and use 5 of the 8 on the right.

I now know how to patch and/or replace an inner tube on a bike tire. Probably a good skill to learn, since I'm going to be going on an overnight bike trip in September.

 

Im'ma get up in the crawl space and get to work on insulation and fixing the plumber's fuckups... It's not hot today, so I better get on this stuff.

 

It is pretty warm here, 26C/79F with some humidity. I'm used to much warmer, but everyone up here starts to die when it gets this hot lol.
