Lynn, that's such a meaningful quote from the book.

I hope you don't mind if I copy part of your post and put it in the Pets section.

I'll give you credit for having first posted it.

I forgot how good oreos are with milk. but it makes me want to eat like triple the amount of cookies than normal. I swear all I eat is mac and cheese and ice cream while I'm working. going to the gym all school year was great but man will it be tougher this year after my summer of delicious ice cream. For working in a grocery store, there's not shit to eat...

good night everyone. it's so hot out i'm sleeping in the living room

Freezing all day! Pretty lazy first day off tbh. Didn't even smoke, couldn't even be bothered :D took dog for a walk and a train and a walk, went and blew $30 at the shops on groceries and walked out with bugger all. $10 for 5 slices of ham...

Nice quote Lynn. For some reason my dog has elevated liver enzymes lately. So it hits home for me. I am hoping she is ok.

    This sounds good Orison.

After my dog Raine died a coworker, who also worked at the Humane Society, showed me some Keeshond puppies that had just come in but were not out for adoption yet. They were adorable but I knew at that time that I could not handle a puppy while working full time. I went into the adoption room and saw this beautiful golden 2 year old chow/shepherd mix who just won my heart. I kept telling myself it was too soon. I went out to the HS a couple times that week to see him and walk him and decided that if he was still there on Saturday that I would take him home. I adopted Sunny (Sundance) a week after Raine died. Sunny was probably the best dog I ever had. (pictures on my page, I think if they are still there)

Don't let anyone tell you it is too soon. It is never too soon if the right dog comes along.

I usually ride my bike with my wife on her way to work in the morning and then turn around and come home... this morning I got a flat right at the turn around point, had to walk like 30 minutes home with my bike. Now I have to try and figure out how to change a tire tube. I've never had a flat before, I guess I've gotten lucky.

some wheels are harder to get on than others. make sure you check the rim and see those spokes are not coming thru. if they are. take some duct tape or electric tape and go around the rim . poke a hole in tape for the valve stem. when you set the tire. make sure valve is straight up and down and not to the side.

yeah, unless you have a 20in bike, even then sometimes the brake lock will get goofy. when I was a kid. This old man would sit on his porch. we get flats he would help us fix them. giving us tools and stuff. he was the coolest old man . sit on his porch in the shade. It was a little corner house its not there anymore. but I still remember that old man.

another the same old man story. he was on his porch when he heard a whining sound. so there was this puppy in his trash can. It was all bloodied. someone beat it up really bad.. this old man with very little money Im told. rescued this dog put lots of money into it. Its name was Sam.. Sam was messed up from that. his ear was floppy and his tongue was always out to the side. Sam hung out with my grandmothers dog, and they was the best of friends every where all over the place..

It was the back tire. I have another tube here and also a patch kit, so I'll see how it looks when I get the tire off. The only pump I have is an electric one that plugs into my car, so I might go out and buy a bicycle pump today... it would be nice to have anyway.

a bar a few towns over closed late last year. the owner was known to be a racist and if there was any doubt you need only look at the dress code. any type of clothes that were popular in the black community was not allowed in the bar. flat rimmed caps, plain white t-shirts, sports jerseys (that one baffled me although they did change it later to let people with jerseys on, if that team was on the tv)
so no surprise no blacks would go there and also no surprise that they had to close up shop (cutting off half the drinking population of the area will do that to you)
so at the beginning of this month a new place opened up in that building. they are trying to be a family place where you can eat and drink, its really out of place here in the middle of the sticks but they fixed the place up nice they have great variety of drinks and a menu different from any place in the area...lots (well relatively speaking) of games for kids and a few adult video games. plus a nice tiki bar in the back.
all this great stuff they got going on and the one thing i couldnt help but notice was the people in the place. just about half the customers were black, it only stood out because i have been there 20 times before and i think i saw one black person, now this time i am there and half the customers are black and the place is packed. who would have thought?
