You can also put a short section of pvc pipe somewhere and stuff it with sticks to give the Lady Bugs a habitat.

My sisters house is infested with these spiders.

That is my worst fear. I know there are a bunch around me it's the woods there has to be but I try not to think about it. At least they are not venomous. If past lives are a thing I definitely had a bad experience with a spider in one of them. Nothing else bothers me like giant snakes or anything else "creepy" but with spiders I am a little girl.

How about clowns? I've found that people who are afraid of spiders are usually also afraid of clowns.

There have been times I've considered buying lady bugs, like SpaceMan said...but I want them for the bugs and especially aphids that LOVE my roses.

Just make some Lady Bug habitats. They, supposedly, will come.

Ladybugs and praying mantis are the best helpers an organic farmer can have. We bought some online the first year we were here and they've been here ever since. The orange ladybugs are Asian and were imported to this country some time ago. They do the same job as the red ones.

The mantis needs about a nine month time for a complete lifecycle so don't buy them unless your climate would allow that or they'll do the job for you one year and won't have time to reproduce.

To get ladybugs to stay... you release on to a plant that you've recently watered and has a population of aphids. Don't be alarmed if they decide to winter-over inside your house. They won't bother anything. They usually congregate in a darkened corner of your ceiling and hang out there until spring, in a somewhat dormant state. You don't have to supply water or food.

Aerianne?? Really?? They called an exterminator for ladybugs? We humans are our own worst enemies at times. Killed beneficial insects AND he got to live with pesticide residue. Yuck.

On the plus side.. you can tease him forever about this. :) Must have been really scary ladybugs.

Gloriously beautiful outside today. We took Roxy (settled on a name to match her personality) to her first vet visit. She complained the entire drive there and the entire drive home but she was a little warrior princess when the vet gave her the shots. The big dog came along for his yearly booster, too. The vet made us leave him in the truck and came outside to give him the shot. Smart move. Big dog was totally relaxed in his truck and we didn't need the muzzle to get his shot. They always want to muzzle 105 lbs. heh.

Time to feed the catfish and then it's elbow deep in apples again. Making ACV. I need a farmhand.

Hubby made himself a small batch of raw applesauce last night.

I may look at the crock pot recipes for applesauce.
