steaming vegetables is the way to go, they retain a lot more than if you boil them. steamed bok choy or broccoli go great as a side with most meals.

that is definitely a lot of vitamin D... i would suggest taking fish oil that has vitamin d in it, kill two birds with one stone.

I've never read the dune series, but I've heard good things about it. I'm guessing you enjoyed the first one if you are on the second one.

As for the more factual books, I usually can't deal with them either. It actually depends on the writer. I'm currently taking a non-fiction english writing course, and it's been pretty interesting to really analyze the techniques that make such writing interesting.

I rarely boil vegetables-but if I do-I will pour the left-over water into something else that I am cooking (like rice or a soup)

Sounds like you're a fan of the JRE also huh?

I've tried Alpha Brain too.. along with a couple other nootropics, I'm on focus-factor right now which seems to be worth the price (much cheaper than alpha brain; though I did order some more Alpha-Brain too). I agree the effects are very subtle.... but its important to remember that these are vitamins; you're really not going to notice a marked change in consciousness.. I think a lot of the criticisms come from people who are expecting something like adderall, something that will have pronounced noticeable effects, and when they don't get that they leave a bad review and claim "bullshit, placebo"...

Though who knows it totally could be placebo, I'm not saying its not, just that some people are expecting a little too much from what is essentially just herbs and vitamins... One reason I keep purchasing nootropics is that I love to read. I also love to smoke cannabis and for me personally mixing the two doesn't go together as well as I'd like it to (unless you've got some sativa-dominant shit)...

I find that when I'm super baked and try to read I want to fall asleep, my eyes start to feel heavy... Also there are some memory problems as well. For instance, I'll read a page (or a couple pages) and by the time I get to the end of a chapter I find myself thinking "wait, what did I just read about a few pages ago?" It's like my brain only stores the most recent pages in memory and the material I read from the last chapter seems to escape me... I have to go back and look over what I read at the end of a chapter.. and I'm a super proficient reader so thats a real shitty effect to deal with, especially considering I'm high 24/7 and barely ever read without being stoned these days. This is where nootropic supplements seem to have helped me the most noticeably... I feel like I retain the information I just read better, and I don't have to go back and skim over the chapter again after I just finished it... For this effect alone (if it is indeed more than placebo), I think the cost of nootropics are justified, just because of how much I love to read. I find myself tearing through a book every 2 or 3 days now, and I never read without taking a nootropic these days...

    Whats everyone up to today?

yeah i noticed that alpha brain helps my reading. i usually don't have a problem reading stoned though, especially when i'm smoking sativa. although, if i smoke just a little too much, it all goes to shit lol.

yeah, i listen to the JRE off and on. some of the guests lately have been pretty boring/stupid, but it has some good episodes. i think my favourite guest has been bert kreischer. i've actually found a few other podcasts i like by googling him and seeing what else he's on.

hey guys...heres a thought....you wanna clear and focused brain?...eat a goddamnrd apple and dont light up.....its about 50 cents....

come on guys.....you are both smart enough to know that you have both been ''marketed''....and even..''targeted'' by the ''marketers'' to some extent

so...regardless of the quality of those brain foods etc and regardless of the claimed good results by both of you

what did you spend on all that stuff?

a simple total..no breakdown is neeeded:):)
