ML, your son does way more for you than the average boy his age. He must be a very good boy!

    Give that boy a cake.

It would seem heartless to me to deprive any child of a cake on their birthday. That would crush his self-esteem, honey.

Just finished hand washing 2 completely stuffed dishwasherfuls of dishes. I use my non-functioning dishwasher as a drying rack.

Shit why do I let those dishes pile up like I do?

To be fair to myself, there were alot of big items and alot of new plastic plates that had to be washed before being put away, plus several bottles and jars I'm keeping for something else.

But, to tell on myself, further, every fucking piece of silverware I own was dirty.

It's more difficult since hubby won't wash a damn thing anymore.

i wouldnt withhold birthday cake, but he has his fathers work ethic instead of mine. so he "intends" to do a lot, but doesnt actually get around to it. "i didnt do that yet, i got distracted." "im playing with ____ even though you told me not to." " i Believe i fed the pets..." the look on the animals' faces beg to differ.

its just frustrating. its hot, im hurty, and i was changing diapers at 5 and babysitting before 9, so its hard not to have the kind of helper i was as a kid.

    I understand, ML.

My daughter in law raised her younger siblings. Her mother had another place with her boyfriend and literally left my dil with the children for days at a time. My dil was just 15.

Also, my former boyfriend's 10 year old daughter changed all the diapers for her infant sister; she washed all her bottles too. She got all the baby's meals for her. That younger one was like a wild animal when I met them. I had to potty train her, get her off the bottle, teach her to sleep in her own bed, and to let someone brush her hair.

I've told you. I admire you, even if you do remind me a bit of myself, lol.

Oh, and one of my biggest pet peeves with that child's mother - She'd go to a restaurant and dump out sugar packets on the table so the child could draw in the sugar on the table.

I also had to teach the girl not to throw food in the floor at restaurants. She'd do it and her parents would walk off and leave it on the floor. I made the girl pick it all up.

I also taught her to walk without being in a stroller. If she wasn't in the house she was in a stroller because she was so wild. I'd take her to flea markets and let her walk. I took her on nature walks outside.

That "mother" is a lazy pig and an awful waste of breath.

    gosh, it sounds like it!

my parents just worked a lot. my mom would leave my brothers with me so she could go to the grocery store in peace and quiet, but we were pretty well behaved in public and restaurants and such. i try to make a point of thanking parents who are in control of their kids. i love hearing an "excuse me" when a little one is trying to get by. it makes me want to give them money.

sweet. he had a good day, for a sunday when most people are grilling with their dads. not awesome, but good. he has a class tomorrow that will eat up the best part of his shift (stupid) but its training wage so the check that direct deposits should handle the old bank account issues. ah. control. so comforting.
