I got ready for yard work, donning my long sleeved shirt, light pants tucked inside my rubber/outside working boots...these boots are for bugs to crawl on before reaching skin and so that any snake will have to go to at least a little trouble to get into my skin.

Then I put together all the stuff - garden gloves, hedge clippers, and trash bag/s for all the stuff I need to just pick the hell up.

I got out there in my outfit, complete with my "stuff" and about fell out within a few minutes it was so hot.

    I'm not sufficiently motivated.

i just like the picture of the dog :)

my toe hurts. my dad got the boy/ us a 10 ft pool for his birthday. so now prepping and leveling and sanding an area is on the "to-do" list. i cant do shit but draw plans and direct others. it will be very nice and relaxing, but damn. lets pick a time when im not able to do any of the work.

so the boy is getting up early, like pre-dawn, tomorrow. he has to pull the areas of weeds that are getting weed fabric. there are some yarrow plants that need to be moved. then weed fabric and leveling in the back, so we can move the patio nearer to the house. where the patio is now can be where we set up the pool. that does not factor in any fencing needs, or the other "clearing away" work needed.
come on dad. i have a 9 year old, and a husband who works, and no excess income for spending on outside help. plus, i have all the baby prep stuff to do, and he wants me to have a level area set up in less than a week. i KNOW hes seen my yard. its a ridiculous goal.

Yep, another thunderstorm. My front yard dog area is like a dry river bed when it's not raining. The storms have washed it down to sand now. Kinda interesting.

it was meant to be a comment on the government and on the courts in particular. more than the irony of my thought in the op on the subject...I find it funny because this country has a separation of church and state written right into the constitution.

so to be clear i am not mocking the religion....atm. I am mocking the government.

went to an estate auction today, picked up a wicker framed beanbag like chair that i will use when playing video games. 2 like new compact fold-able lawn chairs, a futon, a 3 shelf storage cabinet, and a box lot that included a wine glass i wanted but never got because it was $10. that lot also included a bunch of linens that i have yet to go through. all of that together for less than a $20 spot.

Good morning! I've been reading this very interesting book called "The Mysteries of Beethoven's Hair". A 15 yr old kid fan cut a nice sized lock of Beethoven's hair whilst he was in his casket...that wasn't uncommon back then. Neither was making a death mask uncommon, which is also interesting...

ANYWAY, this immensely talented man suffered all his life from varying types of sicknesses; but when these 2 rich modern-day dudes acquired Beethoven's hair (from Sothesby's) they had it analyzed...which Beethoven had written to a relative that he wished someday the reason for his many ailments and his deafness could be found out and shared with the world. So, oddly enough his wish wound up being granted.

He had literally more lead in him than is imaginable. 90% (NINETY!) more lead was in his hair than in a modern day hair sample. Back in his day sometimes doctors would even give lead capsules to "treat" different maladies. :yikes: At the end, rather than take/request some opiates to relieve the pain (which I damn sure would have been requesting), he had no opiates, requesting nothing to ease anything...preferring to (I guess) keep his mind clear to write music stuff, thoughts and receive guests.

I'm a big Beethoven fan also...

The Moonlight Sonata is one of my go-to pieces to play when I don't feel right, or when I feel really good and want to feel like Super Woman or something. lol :D

i thought that was really interesting too.

hubby is off to work. he really needs a big money day. i need to get tons done around the house. my toe is really bothering me, i hurt it more on every trip to the bathroom last night. no sleep. kids already riding the last nerve. his birthday is friday. who pisses their mom off right before their birthday? ffs. im stressed out enough, he might not even get cake this year. im so tired of yelling at him and stressing out trying to get him to help out around here. not like i have other things to put my energies toward, baby is probably going to end up having stress disorders. ridiculous.

IF the grass dries out, I gotta start mowing... I need wider tires, like flotation tires.
