Just used the "shellshock" vulnerability to reset the root password on a friends Mac ... she didn't know what it was for some reason and thought "hmm, there's no way shellshock isn't fixed but i think i'll try it" .. what do ya know it wasn't, which is scary (although, somewhat useful here). Linux distros had it fixed a long time ago ... what's so hard about including a patched shell in an update?

Saw a baby squirrel today, about that same age. He was out in the incomplete meditation garden when I got home today.

I was just doing a web search for creeping thyme, clicked on "shopping" (tons of places selling seeds and plants) Clicked on "available locally" and got only two places... selling Spectracide weed killer... WTF!

So after a week of practice pool on my new table it was time to go play a game with the boys at pub. And I played good. Fucken good. In fact I think I only missed 3 shots in 2 games but unfortunately I didn't win any. I just had bad luck plus I got into a heated argument with a guy. Now is recently learned a trick with my thumb, to keep my cue straight on breaks which allows me to plant a lot more power into my break. So as I did, I split everything up but sunk a yellow and a red ball. Good break. So I aim my next ball up, yellow, as that went down first and was told I fouled and other person turn. And I argued. I said why?

Well you sink two different balls.

    So?

    Well that's a foul.

    How's that a foul?

    You sink two balls.

Who cares? Why am I being penalized for a good a break. It's my shot still. I'm playing nice by selecting a ball that went down first. Honestly, I can choose whatever ball I want.

No you're not allowed it a foul.

Well then, what's the point of breaking up the balls then? Next time I won't, I'm just going to nudge them.

And we stopped talking. He beat me because I went in off and the cue sank after a good pot tbh. But I was much happy with my performance. My eye is really getting in. Those balls weren't even hitting the cusions, they were aimed straight in and I worried both opponents as I was beating them much of the games.

Irmi, I'm a little confused by your game. Was there a name of the game you were playing? I don't remember alot of the games. It's been a long time since I played pool. I guess I only really know the games
    8 Ball and 9 Ball.

    Wow, Irmi.

I just look on line and found your game. All the balls are yellow or red except for the 8 ball.

I'm use to numbered stripes and solids.

I was in vegas during a big pool tourny back in 06 i would guess it was the same one. It was funny because you walk down the strip and there was dozens of people every block carrying cue sticks.

I used to love to play pool...before I quit going out and all. I liked 5 ball too...quick, to the point...3 (litle) games out of .50. :D

Yes, my old(er) ass is back on here...my YOUNGER son came for his weekly visit a little early since I have whined and complained ad nauseum about being not being able to get online, even though the IDIOT at Best Buy needed me - AN OLDER PERSON -to find the exact same thing for sale that I ASKED FOR that allows this computer to get online thru dial-up that her young person eyes couldn't find in the whole store.

But my son disabled these stupid window updates that have stopped me time after time from just gettting on the computer period...

even though he claims he knows NO WAY this could affect me getting online, as soon as he did this, I've been able to get online since.

    good lord

and the piece of hardware (the adapter) I got at Best Buy on my 2nd trip up there, was $50..$20.more than the initial not-fitting piece young eyes sold me.

I guess what still gets me about all that is not ONLY that she was youngER than me but she should actually have known what the hell she was doing. godalmighty...but she probably never smoked a joint so she qualified for that job. [IMG]

    that's all I got - now ;)
