I really liked walking through the old 17th and 18th century cemeteries in England. There were a lot of gravestones for young children and the places had such an air of resigned sadness and loss, and yet a beautiful, solemn peace at the same time. Some of the inscriptions on the gravestones just tore at my heart. One particular grave for a baby said "sleeping sweetly" and that is all. Something about that really makes my eyes water.
in high school i read "spoon river anthology" by edgar lee masters.it is a collection of poems about people that are buried in a small town cemetery.that may have been when i first became interested in cemeteries.
yeah, thats alot like me. when i go and visit "baby lee" i just spend time to give him respect and put flowers on the grave and sit there. it breaks my heart to see a baby's grave. and theres been so much vandalism at the cemetery. alot of wanna-be ghost hunters that have no respect. there was a serial killer that was buried there, and alot of wierd scary things happen at that cemetery. but that doesnt give the right to use it as a playground.
yeah yeah yeah. its still there. i promise. i got another cool one made of coch shells. its amazing. not digital though, so its not centered very well. I'm answering questions and working on a case right now, so i have my site up right now, so i'll dig it up. its worth sharing.
Cant remember, it was taken in a cemetery where there was battle from the civil war in the city. I took it years ago. theres an old cemetery keeper's house there. It was pretty cool.
My eyes are watering too but I think that's because the screens too bright. GL and OlHippie, those pics are really good.
