cats, all the way. if they eat you, they're just recycling...dogs will do it too, if they're starving...

but my cats have always been so low-maintenance and handy, killing unwanted pests; whereas the dogs, while cute, are a big, expensive pain in the ass.

I prefer cats, although we have a dog (because my sister insisted on that).

cats are good if you want a pet you can have on ur shoulder and say "oooo whosa pretty kitty kitty *kiss kiss kiss*" Dogs you can play and interact with. Dogs are a lot more loving imo.

it's all in how you raise your cats. my cats follow me everywhere, my daughter, too. they're very playful and personable, and a riot to watch. my daughter's cat thinks my daughter is her child, and so babysits kai. they fight like siblings, play like best buds, and cuddle every night. my daughter got sick and was sleeping late yesterday, and her cat was SO CONCERNED that she wouldn't leave kai's side. she just sat on my pillow staring down at her in bed. the moment kai woke, i could hear dishes purring in the next room. when kai's in the bath, dishes is right there with her. when my neighbor's dog got too lcose to kai, dishes raced over and beat the crap out of it. very good animals, just have to interact with them a lot while they're kittens.

Cats definately. They are more independent, and I can communicate with cats better.

I love both and have had both but dogs you can have alot more fun with. A good example for me is;I had a pure bread husky name buddy--bud for short and during the winter time I used to hook him up to our sled and he would let loose--it scared the shit out of me sometimes because he was very powerful when he pulled and he cruised at a good speed; I still loved it though. I don't have him anymore--somebody came into my back yard and stole him while I was at work. My boys and myself love and miss him badly!

Dogs definitely. Especially the bigger breeds.
