neither good nor bad, just another idiology. a little less productive maybe but also a little less incentive to be harmful and distructive.

something monetary economic fanatics are paranoid of, but that's their problem.

two questions ! Do you think that what is called "the old money" IE: those whos families have ruled Europe for 1500 years seriously think a few oiks with a bit of cash are reaching the top?

The top of what exactly, the legislative, the judiciary, the presidency or monarchy? If you are European you wouldnt want to confuse money with wealth or a few business contacts with power.

Whos intelligence? I dont see many africans competing in mensa - merely because intelligence is a cultural phenomonon not an objective state of mind. I doubt many mensa elite would survive 10 minutes in a south american jungle.
Well Marx only wrote a description of capitalism as he saw it
Too right thats why you cant get to what you call "the top" the rich see class as a matter of breeding and background

I suppose you think also then that people who choose to ignore your meritocracy are not intelligent enough to compete?

capitolism has no 'class'. i don't mean that in the sense of creating classless socities, though i grew up in one in which it was almost possible to pretend that it does, but rather that trying to make everything have to begin and end with symbolic representations of value, either tangable ones, or virtual symbols that represent them, has no class in the sense of no taste, no honor, no dignity, no aesthetic gratification.

Although I'm pretty well educated, I've never really had all that much money, so I guess I'd classify myself as lower middle class. I hate to think of myself as lower class for some reason, even if that might more accurately reflect my current economic state.

    Upper middle class I guesse.

Let me see if I get this right though.

Post Secondary Education paid for me.

    Apartment, paid for me.

    Car, paid for me.

    Food, paid for me.

Alcohol, tobacco and romance, paid by me.

    Damn I'm lucky.

HUmn. Im not sure really. I would say I was def born into lower class but have risen above it atleast into lower middle class or middle class atleast I should think. I dont have a lot of money..but I have the money I need to do what I want for the most part and have an apt and vehicle. Is that middle class?
Oh and I bought and pay for everything myself..jus to put that out there.
