The Baby has not developed their decadent nature yet + even after that they must act on it in a way that breaks our laws.

Mind you.. I personally dont see any benefit in seeing people on 'Death Row' for 17 years, all the while having a chance at a new government abolishing it anyway.

 

Yay, another person has brought up something in The Bible and has attempted to use it by itself. Seriously folks. Would you go into a College Calculus class without any real knowlege of calculus and try to teach it? No, you wouldn't, so why do you try it with The Bible. Here is an idea. Read it, study it, learn it, then tell me what it says.

Brockton, you're all right Reason why I brought up original sin was because according to the Bible, a child is no better than a criminal on death row. Sin is sin, a sinner is a sinner. But then again, there are passages in the Bible implying that small children who are not capable of understanding of Christ will go to heaven upon death...So i guess it is all up to interpretation. Like pretty much all of the Bible. (Makes it interesting to study, nonetheless)

Well, first, I myself am not against capital punishment. I think they way we do it is awful though. We shouldn't let these people sit on death row 17 years, like you said. Anyone gettting the death sentance should get it immeadeatly. Some may think it's an odd point of view for a liberal, but frankly, America has a crime problem, more so than any other nation like us. We are obviously doing something wrong.


Bandit, I grew up with christians like you. Angry fundamentalists. The type of christian that least exemplifies Jesus's behavior. Yeah, Jesus was a zealot at times, but he wasn't such an asshole. According to your religion you are to turn people to christianity, not away from. You are a sad example of a christian. Sorry to be offensive.

And I have studied the Bible....I have 10 years under my belt, actually. I admit I misread the verse (I don't have the entire bible memorized), but regardless, my complete understanding of the Bible leads me to believe that vengance is not something a christian is supposed to participate in (at least until your final judgement). The bible offers up so many contradictions when it comes killing/taking lives that it can be interpreted to fit anyone's agenda. Makes you think that the people writing it were pretty smart people - ready to take advantage of a society.

I think abortion is justifiable before birth. I personally do not find the amazsing compassion many others claim to find within babies. How many of you have recollection of the womb? of your first few days even? you wouldnt, since the brain isnt even functioning completely. If the baby is not born yet, then they do not have a 'human mind' as such, and so it is alright to put them down (with reason of course, mass killing of babies is not a good thing, too big a family, or too young the mother, they are reasonable).


However actual people with emotions and thought processes, in my beliefs, are never to be killed, there is no justification at all, unless it was some wierd science fiction sorta sacrifice thing. I believe anyone who kills themself has a mental problem, msot likely : ignorance. I believe people should rather eternal life, with pain, over death. Anything comes before death. Nothing justifies the killing of a person (and to me, babies that havnt even been born, are not people, jsut like a caterpillar is not a butterfly).

People make mistakes, and people sin. If you would gladly take someones life as a punishment, then why is the murder itself a more deserving crime of death than stealing bread? the taking of life is not an issue to you. All crimes should be punished with capital punishment!.........
